15 and the board <strong>of</strong> supervisors shall levy said tax at the same time, and<br />

16 in the same manner that other school taxes are required to be levied.<br />

NOTE: The above section appeared as subdivision 2 <strong>of</strong> section 2524 in the<br />

compiled code. That section was repealed by 39 G. A., ch. 175, § 1, except subdivision<br />

2 which is reproduced above as an independent section in order to place<br />

it next to section 2524-a21 which is very similar to it.<br />

SEC. 2524-a23. School buildings—tax levy—special fund.<br />

1 The board <strong>of</strong> each school corporation organized for the purpose <strong>of</strong><br />

2 establishing a central school, shall provide a suitable building for such<br />

3 school in that district and may at the regular or special meeting, call a<br />

4 special election to submit to the qualified electors <strong>of</strong> the district the<br />

5 question <strong>of</strong> voting a tax or authorizing the board to issue bonds, or<br />

6 both, for any or all <strong>of</strong> the following purposes : To secure a site, build<br />

7 or equip a schoolhouse, to build a superintendent's or teachers' house,<br />

8 or to repair or improve any school building or grounds when the cost<br />

9 will exceed two thousand dollars. All moneys received for such pur-<br />

10 poses shall be placed in the schoolhouse fund <strong>of</strong> said corporation and<br />

11 shall be used only for the purposes for which voted.<br />

SEC. 2524-a24. Location <strong>of</strong> school building.<br />

1 In locating a school site, the board shall take into consideration<br />

2 the geographical position, number and conveniences <strong>of</strong> the pupils, and<br />

3 may submit the question <strong>of</strong> location to the voters <strong>of</strong> the district at<br />

4 any regular -or special meeting called for that purpose.<br />

SEC. 2524-a25. Transportation <strong>of</strong> pupils.<br />

1 The school board <strong>of</strong> any independent school district or any school<br />

2 corporation maintaining a central school or any school corporation<br />

3 organized under this act [39 G. A., ch. 175] for that purpose shall<br />

4 provide suitable transportation to and from school for every child <strong>of</strong><br />

5 school age living within said district, and outside the limits <strong>of</strong> any<br />

6 city, town, or village, but the board shall not be required to cause the<br />

7 vehicle <strong>of</strong> transportation to leave the public highway to receive or dis-<br />

8 charge pupils.<br />

in converting it into supplement numbers. The bracketed citation following<br />

the word indicates the act referred to.<br />

SEC. 2524-a26. Transportation routes—suspension <strong>of</strong> service.<br />

1 The board shall designate the routes to be traveled by each con-<br />

2 veyance in transporting children to and from school. The board shall<br />

3 have the right on account <strong>of</strong> inclemency <strong>of</strong> the weather to suspend the<br />

4 transportation on any route upon any day or days when in its judgment<br />

5 it would be a hardship on the children, or when the roads to be traveled<br />

6 are unfit or impassable.<br />
