SEC. 2524-a20. Organization <strong>of</strong> remaining territory.<br />

1 Where, after the formation <strong>of</strong> a consolidated corporation, one or<br />

2 more parts <strong>of</strong> the territory <strong>of</strong> a school township is left outstanding,<br />

3 each piece shall constitute a rural independent school corporation and<br />

4 be organized as such unless two or more contiguous subdistricts are<br />

5 left, in which event each <strong>of</strong> such remaining portions <strong>of</strong> territory shall<br />

6 constitute a school township. It shall be the duty <strong>of</strong> the county super-<br />

7 intendent <strong>of</strong> the county in which the territory is situated to call an elec-<br />

8 tion, by giving proper notice, in each <strong>of</strong> such remaining pieces <strong>of</strong><br />

9 territory, for the purpose <strong>of</strong> electing school <strong>of</strong>ficers in the manner pro-<br />

10 vided by law for electing <strong>of</strong>ficers in rural independent districts or school<br />

11 townships, as the case may be, and fix the date for the first meeting and<br />

12 organization <strong>of</strong> the new school board in each district.<br />

SEC. 2524-a21. Organization <strong>of</strong> new board—taxes.<br />

1 The organization <strong>of</strong> each new school board elected in a school cor-<br />

2 poration organized under the provisions <strong>of</strong> this act [39 G. A., ch. 175]<br />

3 shall be effected on or before the first day <strong>of</strong> July following its elec-<br />

4 tion, and when completed, all taxes previously certified to but not<br />

5 levied by the board <strong>of</strong> supervisors, shall be void so far as the property<br />

6 within the limits <strong>of</strong> the new school corporation is concerned, and each<br />

7 board <strong>of</strong> any new school corporation shall at a regular or special meet-<br />

8 ing called at any time prior to the third Monday in August <strong>of</strong> each<br />

9 year, estimate for the general fund <strong>of</strong> such school corporation the<br />

10 amount necessary for the general fund, not to exceed the limits fixed<br />

11 by law, and the amount shall be certified to the board <strong>of</strong> supervisors<br />

12 as provided by law for school corporations.<br />

SEC. 2524-a22. Organization <strong>of</strong> board—taxes previously certified<br />

—levy for general fund.<br />

1 The organization <strong>of</strong> the school board in consolidated independent<br />

2 school corporations shall be effected on or before the first day <strong>of</strong> July<br />

3 following their election, and when completed, all taxes previously certi-<br />

4 fied shall be void so far as the property within the limits <strong>of</strong> the con-<br />

5 solidated independent school corporation is concerned, and the board<br />

6 <strong>of</strong> said consolidated independent school corporation shall at a regular<br />

7 meeting, or a special meeting called for the purpose, at any time prior<br />

8 to the third Monday in August <strong>of</strong> each year, levy for the general fund<br />

9 <strong>of</strong> said school the amount <strong>of</strong> all necessary taxes for all school purposes,<br />

10 which shall not exceed eighty dollars for each person <strong>of</strong> school age,<br />

11 except that where an approved high school course is maintained in such<br />

12 school the levy may be one hundred dollars for each person <strong>of</strong> school<br />

13 age, the amount so levied to be certified by them to the county board<br />

14 <strong>of</strong> supervisors on or before the first Monday <strong>of</strong> September in each year,
