NOTE: The above section was treated by the editor <strong>of</strong> the supplement<br />

<strong>of</strong> 1913 as repealed by 35 G. A., ch. 103. The result was that said section was<br />

omitted from the compiled code. The attorney general in a recent opinion,<br />

however, has held that said section has not been repealed and the same is here<br />

printed to supply the omission.<br />

SEC. 2506. Compensation.<br />

1 In all counties in the state <strong>of</strong> <strong>Iowa</strong> the salary <strong>of</strong> the county super-<br />

2 intendent <strong>of</strong> schools shall be eighteen hundred dollars per annum and<br />

3 such other and additional compensation as may be allowed by the board<br />

4 <strong>of</strong> supervisors in each particular county, but in no case to exceed three<br />

5 thousand dollars. In addition to the foregoing compensation such<br />

6 superintendent shall receive the expenses <strong>of</strong> necessary <strong>of</strong>fice stationery<br />

7 and postage and those incurred in attending upon meetings called by<br />

8 the superintendent <strong>of</strong> public instruction ; claims therefor to be made by<br />

9 verified statement filed with the county auditor, who shall draw his<br />

10 warrant upon the county treasurer therefor. Any increase in salaries<br />

11 provided for in this section shall not apply after June thirtieth, nine-<br />

12 teen hundred twenty-three.<br />

SECTION 2524. Consolidated independent school districts—petition—notice—hearing—appeal—election—buildings.<br />

said section 2524-a22) enacted in lieu there<strong>of</strong>.]<br />

SEC. 2524-al. Consolidated school corporations.<br />

1 Consolidated school corporations containing an area <strong>of</strong> not less<br />

2 than sixteen government sections <strong>of</strong> contiguous territory in one or<br />

3 more counties may be organized for the purpose <strong>of</strong> maintaining a cen-<br />

4 tral school, and existing corporations organized for that purpose may<br />

5 be dissolved in the manner hereinafter provided.<br />
