20 The permanent annual appropriations provided for in this sec-<br />

21 tion shall be paid on the order <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Iowa</strong> state board <strong>of</strong> education,<br />

22 in monthly installments beginning July first, <strong>of</strong> each year, with the<br />

23 exception <strong>of</strong> the summer school fund, sixteen thousand dollars, which<br />

24 shall be available on July first <strong>of</strong> each year.<br />

NOTE: The 36th G. A., ch. 227, § 10, ordered all appropriation acts to be<br />

omitted from the supplemental supplement <strong>of</strong> 1915. The result was that the foregoing<br />

section was not carried into the compiled code. It is here printed to supply<br />

the omission.<br />

SEC. 3348-al. Hospital for crippled and diseased children.<br />

1 There is hereby appropriated, out <strong>of</strong> any money in the state treas-<br />

2 ury not otherwise appropriated, to the state university <strong>of</strong> <strong>Iowa</strong>, the<br />

3 sum <strong>of</strong> one hundred fifty thousand dollars for the purpose <strong>of</strong> erecting<br />

4 and equipping a hospital for the use <strong>of</strong> diseased and crippled children<br />

5 <strong>of</strong> the state who are committed to the hospital <strong>of</strong> the college <strong>of</strong> medi-<br />

6 cine <strong>of</strong> the state university <strong>of</strong> <strong>Iowa</strong>, under the provisions <strong>of</strong> sections<br />

7 twenty-three hundred seventy-six, twenty-three hundred seventy-<br />

8 seven, and twenty-three hundred eighty-four <strong>of</strong> the compiled code;<br />

9 and for the use <strong>of</strong> such other children as might be cared for without<br />

10 interfering with the proper care <strong>of</strong> the children committed under sec-<br />

11 tions twenty-three hundred seventy-six, twenty-three hundred seventy-<br />

12 seven and twenty-three hundred eighty-four <strong>of</strong> the compiled code, and<br />

13 in addition to these such other patients as may be properly admitted<br />

14 under the provisions <strong>of</strong> sections twenty-three hundred eighty-seven<br />

15 and twenty-three hundred eighty-eight <strong>of</strong> the compiled code.<br />

NOTE: Chapter 214, acts <strong>of</strong> the 37th G. A., was omitted from the compiled<br />

code as a temporary provision. 39 G. A., ch. 90, however, amended the act <strong>of</strong> the<br />

37th G. A. by adding some permanent law thereto. For that reason the act <strong>of</strong> the<br />

37th G. A., in its amended form, is produced in this supplement in the above form.<br />

SEC. 2354. Appropriation for bacteriological laboratory.<br />

1 There is hereby appropriated out <strong>of</strong> any money in the state treas-<br />

2 ury not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose <strong>of</strong> more perfectly<br />

3 equipping the present bacteriological laboratory at the state university<br />

4 and for the purpose <strong>of</strong> enabling it to perform the duties imposed by<br />

5 sections twenty-three hundred fifty-two and twenty-three hundred<br />

6 fifty-three <strong>of</strong> the compiled code, and to provide it with the necessary<br />

7 apparatus and assistants to render the same effective, the sum <strong>of</strong> fif-<br />

8 teen thousand dollars annually or so much there<strong>of</strong> as may be necessary,<br />

9 to be additional salary <strong>of</strong> the director, epidemiologists, water analysts<br />

10 and other assistants, the expenses <strong>of</strong> said laboratory as may be neces-<br />

11 sary by said sections, including postage, stationery, and other contin-<br />

12 gent and miscellaneous expenses which may be incurred in the main-<br />

13 taining <strong>of</strong> said laboratory and performing the duties required therein<br />

14 by the provision <strong>of</strong> said sections. The director shall receive such addi-<br />

15 tional salary not to exceed twelve hundred dollars per year as the state<br />

16 board <strong>of</strong> health may fix. The appropriations hereby provided shall be
