SECTION 2274-al. Instruction in constitution <strong>of</strong> United <strong>State</strong>s<br />

and state.<br />

1 In all public and private schools located within the state <strong>of</strong> <strong>Iowa</strong><br />

2 there shall be given regular courses <strong>of</strong> instruction in the constitution<br />

3 <strong>of</strong> the United <strong>State</strong>s and in the constitution <strong>of</strong> the state <strong>of</strong> <strong>Iowa</strong>.<br />

SEC. 2274-a2. Extent <strong>of</strong> instruction in state and federal constitution.<br />

Such instruction in the constitution <strong>of</strong> the United <strong>State</strong>s and the<br />

constitution <strong>of</strong> the state <strong>of</strong> <strong>Iowa</strong>, shall begin not later than the opening<br />

<strong>of</strong> the eighth grade, and shall continue in the high school course to an<br />

extent to be determined by the superintendent <strong>of</strong> public instruction.<br />

SEC. 2277. Expenses.<br />

The superintendent <strong>of</strong> public instruction and his deputy and the<br />

regular inspectors in his department shall receive their actual necessary<br />

traveling expenses incurred in the performance <strong>of</strong> their <strong>of</strong>ficial<br />

duties, to be allowed upon an itemized and verified account filed with<br />

and approved by the state board <strong>of</strong> audit, and the state auditor shall<br />

draw his warrant on the state treasurer for the amount allowed.<br />

CHAPTER 3.<br />

VOCATIONAL TRAINING.<br />

SECTION 2291. Expenses—salary.<br />

The state board for vocational education is hereby authorized to<br />

make such expenditure for the actual expenses <strong>of</strong> the board and <strong>of</strong> the<br />

state advisory committee for vocational education incurred in the discharge<br />

<strong>of</strong> their duties as provided in this chapter, for the salaries <strong>of</strong><br />

assistants, and for such <strong>of</strong>fice and other expenses as in the judgment <strong>of</strong><br />

the board are necessary to the proper administration <strong>of</strong> this chapter.<br />
