§§ 39-a2-41-al. UNIFORM STATE LAWS. Tit. I, Ch. 2-A<br />

SEC. 39-a2. Appointive members.<br />

1 Both <strong>of</strong> the appointive members in the senate and the house,<br />

2 respectively, shall be named from the representatives <strong>of</strong> the minority<br />

3 parties, if there be such ; provided, however, that if there be but one<br />

4 member <strong>of</strong> the minority party in either the senate or the house, the<br />

5 representation on said committee in such house shall be one member<br />

6 from the minority parties.<br />

SEC. 39-a3. Organization—meetings.<br />

1 The committee shall organize by electing a chairman and a sec-<br />

2 retary from its membership, and may meet at such times and places<br />

3 as may be ordered by resolution or upon call <strong>of</strong> the chairman and<br />

4 three other members <strong>of</strong> the committee.<br />

SEC. 39-a4. Authority during recess.<br />

1 The authority granted by law to the joint committee on retrench-<br />

2 ment and reform shall continue after adjournment <strong>of</strong> the legislature<br />

3 and until the succeeding legislature shall convene and organize, with<br />

4 the same force and effect as is now granted by law to such committee<br />

5 during the period the legislature is in session.<br />

SEC. 39-a5. Record.<br />

1 The committee shall make a record <strong>of</strong> its meetings and transac-<br />

2 tions, which record shall be kept in the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> the secretary <strong>of</strong> state<br />

3 and shall be open to public inspection.<br />

SEC. 39-a6. Compensation and expenses.<br />

1 For meetings <strong>of</strong> the committee other than those held during the<br />

2 time the legislature is in session, each member <strong>of</strong> the committee shall<br />

3 receive his actual traveling expenses and a per diem <strong>of</strong> ten dollars per<br />

4 day for each day in attendance ; itemized statements for such expenses<br />

5 and per diem shall be presented to and audited by the state board <strong>of</strong><br />

6 audit, and paid from any funds in the state treasury not otherwise<br />

7 appropriated.<br />

SECTION 41-al. Commission on uniform state laws—vacancies.<br />

1 The governor shall appoint three commissioners, each <strong>of</strong> whom<br />

2 shall be a member <strong>of</strong> the bar <strong>of</strong> this state, in good standing, who shall<br />

3 constitute and be known as the commission on uniform state laws,<br />

4 and upon the death, resignation or refusal to serve <strong>of</strong> any <strong>of</strong> the<br />
