SEC. 1326-al5. Display <strong>of</strong> license.<br />

1 Every holder <strong>of</strong> a license shall display it in a conspicuous place<br />

2 in the holder's principal <strong>of</strong>fice, place <strong>of</strong> business or employment.<br />

SEC. 1326-al6. Existing statutes—applicability.<br />

1 Subject only to the limitation that obtaining license, refusal to<br />

2 license, revocation or suspension <strong>of</strong> license <strong>of</strong> osteopathic physicians<br />

3 or osteopathic surgeons shall be governed by the provisions <strong>of</strong> this<br />

4 chapter and to the further limitation that nothing found in the chapter<br />

5 shall authorize such physician or surgeon to prescribe or give internal<br />

6 curative medicines, and subject further to the limitation that one<br />

7 licensed to practice as an osteopathic physician only shall not perform<br />

8 major or operative surgery, such words as physician, regular prac-<br />

9 ticing physician, doctor, doctor <strong>of</strong> medicine, regular practitioner, medio<br />

ical practitioner, medical school, medical college, or their equivalents,<br />

11 wheresoever found in any existing law or statute, shall, both as to<br />

12 privilege, duty and obligation, be enlarged to include osteopathic phy-<br />

13 sicians and osteopathic physicians and surgeons to like effect as if the<br />

14 words osteopathic physician or osteopathic physician and surgeon were<br />

15 written out in such statute.<br />

SEC. 13S6-al7. Refusal, suspension or revocation <strong>of</strong> license—witnesses—production<br />

<strong>of</strong> testimony—oaths.<br />

1 The state board <strong>of</strong> osteopathy may either refuse to issue or may<br />

2 suspend or revoke any license for any one or any combination <strong>of</strong> the<br />

3 following causes :<br />

4 1. Conviction <strong>of</strong> a felony, as shown by a certified copy <strong>of</strong> the<br />

5 record <strong>of</strong> the court <strong>of</strong> conviction ;<br />

6 2. The obtaining <strong>of</strong> or an attempt to obtain a license, or prac-<br />

7 tice in the pr<strong>of</strong>ession, or money, or any other thing <strong>of</strong> value, by<br />

8 fraudulent misrepresentations ;<br />

9 3. Gross malpractice ;<br />

10 4. Continued practice by a person knowingly having an infec-<br />

11 tious or contagious disease;<br />

12 5. Advertising, practicing, or attempting to practice under a<br />

13 name other than one's own ;<br />

14 6. Advertising by means <strong>of</strong> knowingly false or deceptive state-<br />

15 ments ;<br />

16 7. Habitual drunkenness, or habitual addiction to the use <strong>of</strong><br />

17 habit-forming drugs.<br />

18 The state board <strong>of</strong> osteopathy may neither refuse to issue, nor<br />

19 refuse to renew, nor suspend, nor revoke any license, however, for<br />

20 any <strong>of</strong> these causes, unless the person accused has been given at least<br />

21 twenty days' notice in writing <strong>of</strong> the charge against him and a public<br />

22 hearing by the state board <strong>of</strong> osteopathy.<br />

23 The state board <strong>of</strong> osteopathy shall have the power to compel<br />

24 the attendance <strong>of</strong> witnesses and the production <strong>of</strong> relevant books and<br />

25 papers for the investigation <strong>of</strong> matters that may come before them<br />

26 and the presiding <strong>of</strong>ficers <strong>of</strong> said board, chosen by the board, may<br />

27 administer the requisite oaths and such board shall have the same
