45 The number <strong>of</strong> hours herein prescribed for the study <strong>of</strong> any sub-<br />

46 ject may be reduced not more than thirty per cent, but the total num-<br />

47 ber <strong>of</strong> hours prescribed shall not be reduced. The foregoing require-<br />

48 ments shall be published in each catalogue <strong>of</strong> such osteopathic school<br />

49 or college.<br />

SEC. 1326-al2. Examinations—requirements as to surgery.<br />

1 The examination <strong>of</strong> those who desire to practice as osteopathic<br />

2 physicians shall not include the subject <strong>of</strong> major surgery but shall<br />

3 include minor surgery.<br />

4 The examination <strong>of</strong> those who desire to practice as osteopathic<br />

5 physicians and surgeons shall be <strong>of</strong> the scope defined in the first para-<br />

6 graph <strong>of</strong> this section and in addition thereto, with respect to the sub-<br />

7 ject matter <strong>of</strong> surgery, shall be <strong>of</strong> such character as to thoroughly<br />

8 test the qualifications <strong>of</strong> the applicant as a practitioner <strong>of</strong> osteopathy<br />

9 and surgery.<br />

SEC. 1326-al3. Kinds <strong>of</strong> licenses.<br />

1 Each applicant who successfully passes the examination shall be<br />

2 entitled to a license. The following kinds <strong>of</strong> license shall be issued :<br />

3 1. To practice as an osteopathic physician.<br />

4 2. To practice as an osteopathic physician and surgeon.<br />

SEC. 13S6-al4. License without examination.<br />

1 The state board <strong>of</strong> osteopathy may in its discretion issue a license<br />

2 without examination to a practitioner who has been licensed in any<br />

3 country, state, territory, or province, upon the following conditions:<br />

4 1. That the applicant is <strong>of</strong> good moral character.<br />

5 2. That the applicant shall designate in application whether<br />

6 applicant desires to practice, (a) as an osteopathic physician, (b) as<br />

7 an osteopathic physician and surgeon.<br />

8 3. That the requirements <strong>of</strong> registration in the country, state,<br />

9 territory or province in which the applicant is licensed, are deemed<br />

10 by the state board <strong>of</strong> osteopathy to have been practically equivalent to<br />

11 the requirements <strong>of</strong> registration in force in this state at the date <strong>of</strong><br />

12 such license.<br />

13 The state board <strong>of</strong> osteopathy may also in its discretion issue a<br />

14 license without examination to an osteopathic physician who is a grad-<br />

15 uate <strong>of</strong> an osteopathic college in good standing and who has passed<br />

16 an examination for admission into the medical corps <strong>of</strong> the United<br />

17 <strong>State</strong>s army, United <strong>State</strong>s navy, or the United <strong>State</strong>s public health<br />

18 service.<br />
