15 No school <strong>of</strong> podiatry shall be accredited by said board as a school<br />

16 <strong>of</strong> good standing which does not require for graduation a course <strong>of</strong><br />

17 study <strong>of</strong> at least two years.<br />

18 Upon payment <strong>of</strong> a fee <strong>of</strong> fifty dollars, a license without exam-<br />

19 ination may be issued to podiatrists <strong>of</strong> other states maintaining equal<br />

20 statutory requirements for the practice <strong>of</strong> podiatry and extending the<br />

21 same reciprocal privilege to this state.<br />

SEC. 1321-a4. Scope <strong>of</strong> examination—grades required—fees.<br />

1 Any person not exempt from examination under the preceding<br />

2 section and desiring a license to practice podiatry shall be examined<br />

3 in the following subjects : anatomy, chemistry, dermatology, diagnosis,<br />

4 materia medica, pathology, physiology, therapeutic, clinical and ortho-<br />

5 pedic podiatry, limited in their scope to the treatment <strong>of</strong> the foot, and,<br />

6 if found qualified, shall receive a license. The minimum requirements<br />

7 for a license shall be a general average <strong>of</strong> seventy-five per cent in all<br />

8 the subjects involved and not less than fifty per cent in any one sub-<br />

9 ject. Examination fees <strong>of</strong> fifteen dollars shall be paid to the secretary<br />

10 <strong>of</strong> the state board <strong>of</strong> medical examiners.<br />

11 Any applicant failing in the examination and being refused a<br />

12 license shall be entitled within six months <strong>of</strong> such refusal to a reexam-<br />

13 ination upon an additional fee <strong>of</strong> ten dollars for each examination, but<br />

14 two such reexaminations shall exhaust his privilege under the orig-<br />

15 inal examination.<br />

SEC. 1321-a5. Use <strong>of</strong> title—recording license—renewals.<br />

1 All licensees shall be designated'as registered podiatrists and shall<br />

2 not use any title or abbreviation there<strong>of</strong> without the designation "reg-<br />

3 istered podiatrist", "practice limited to the foot", and shall not mis-<br />

4 lead the public as to their limited pr<strong>of</strong>essional qualifications to treat<br />

5 human ailments. All licenses shall be recorded in the manner <strong>of</strong> other<br />

6 medical licenses in the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> the county recorder in which the<br />

7 licensee practices. A renewal license fee <strong>of</strong> two dollars shall be paid<br />

8 annually on July first <strong>of</strong> each year, and if not paid within three<br />

9 months, the license shall be revoked and shall only be reissued upon<br />

10 original application and examination. All licenses shall be conspicu-<br />

11 ously displayed at the <strong>of</strong>fice or other place <strong>of</strong> practice.<br />

SEC. 1321-a6. Denial or revocation <strong>of</strong> license.<br />

1 The state board <strong>of</strong> medical examiners may after due hearing<br />

2 refuse to grant, revoke or renew any license provided for in this chap-<br />

3 ter to a person, otherwise qualified, who obtained said license by<br />

4 fraudulent representation, for incompetency in practice, for use <strong>of</strong><br />

5 untruthful or improbable statements to patients or in advertisements,<br />

6 for habitual intoxication or for unpr<strong>of</strong>essional and immoral conduct,<br />

7 or for selling or giving away <strong>of</strong> alcohol or drugs for any other than<br />

8 legitimate purposes, but said board may reissue a license after a lapse<br />

9 <strong>of</strong> six months.<br />
