1 Description
The Timer S is used in conjunction with the computer-aided
measuring system CASSY ® . It gives access to the timer inputs
of CASSY as inputs E and F for the transfer of the measuring
signal and for the voltage supply of the connected sensor.
Experiment examples are found on the CD of the CASSY Lab
software (524 200) or in the download version of the software
under http://www.ld-didactic.com or in the manual of the
CASSY Lab software (524 201).
2 Sensors to be used
Combination light barrier* (337 462)
Forked light barrier* (337 46)
Holding magnet adapter with a release mechanism (336 25)
*Additionally required:
1 multi-core cable, 6-pole (501 16)
4 Operation
- Plug the Timer S onto the CASSY module.
- Connect the desired sensor(s).
- Select the measurement quantity.
- Carry out the experiment.
- Read the measured value.
5 Technical data
Sensor connections: two 6-pole sockets
Power supply
for sensor: 12 V
6 Compatibility
Connect the Timer S to the following CASSY modules:
with PC
without PC
Sensor-CASSY
(524 010)
with CASSY-Display
with firmware 1.15 or
higher
Software CASSY Lab
version 1.40 or higher
Pocket-CASSY
(524 006)
–––
Being a member of the CASSY family, the Timer S has the
following properties:
• The Timer S may be plugged in at any time.
• The plugged-in Timer S will be automatically identified.
• Measurement quantities and measuring ranges are set via
menus.
7 Updates
If the software or firmware used is older than that given above,
an update of the software or firmware is required. The current
version of the CASSY Lab software is available on the internet
under http://www.ld-didactic.com.
- Install the current version of the CASSY Lab software and
start it.
- Connect all available CASSY modules to the PC one after
another.
- As soon as you are prompted, bring the firmware up to date
with “Update CASSY Modules” so that it matches with
CASSY Lab.
