4.1.2 Major Products of China’s Beverage Industry:<br />

At present, there are the following types of products in China’s beverage industry:<br />

� Carbonated beverages; including fruit flavored, and cola. The major brands<br />

are Coco Cola, Pepsi Cola, and Jianlibao<br />

� Natural mineral water;<br />

� Fruit & vegetable juice beverages;<br />

� Solid beverages; mainly including bean and milk powder, milky tea.<br />

� Other soft beverages, mainly including Botanic vitamin beverages: such as<br />

bean milk, coconut, and apricot beverages, Special beverages: “Red Bull,”<br />

multivitamin, vitamin AD Ca-milk and other dairy beverages.<br />

China’s major products for the beverage industry in 1998:<br />

In recent years, carbonated beverages have been on the decline, yet still remain the<br />

leading products. The total output of “Two Colas” has reached 2.7 million tons,<br />

covering 22.6% of the total national beverage output.<br />

4.1.3 New Product Trend of China’s Beverage Industry:<br />

Carbonated beverages will remain stable, with a proportion of 40%-50%. Tea<br />

beverages will grow quickly and be among the 2 nd group of products with bottled<br />

water, fruit juice, fruit juice beverage, milky beverage, and botany vitamin beverage.<br />

With the fast development of new beverage types, China’s average per capita<br />

beverage consumption will increase from 10 Kg now to 20 Kg in 2005. And China’s<br />

total beverage output will reach to 27 million tons then. So the need for beverage<br />

filling processing machines will also grow.<br />
