ABSTRACT<br />
Determination of Tuberculosis, an important and re-emerging zoonozis, in Samsun and its<br />
vicinity is of public health importance. The aim of this stud is to determine the frequency of<br />
bovine tuberculosis using two techniques and to determine the correlation between these<br />
techniques. The study will involve cattle sent for slaugther in 4 provinces (Samsun, Amasya,<br />
Tokat, Ordu). Blood sampled and nasal swaps will be taken from animals before slaughter and<br />
mediastinal lymph node, lung samples will be collected after slaughter. Blood samples will be<br />
subjected to gamma interferon ELISA and lymph node, lung samples and nasal swaps will be<br />
subjected to Polimerase Chain Reaction (PCR) to determine the frequency of tuberculosis.<br />
