Jaye Hamby, the 1986 FFA<br />

<strong>National</strong> Home and Farmstead<br />

Improvement Award winner<br />

The Benton, Tennessee, FFA<br />

member found time during high<br />

school to serve as the manager/<br />

statistician for his school's foot-<br />

ball and baseball teams, was<br />

elected junior class vice presi-<br />

dent, won a 4-H state public<br />

speaking championship, and was<br />

valedictorian of his class at Polk<br />

County High School.<br />

In addition, Jaye served as<br />

designed and helped construct a<br />

shop and sheep barn for his<br />

Suffolk sheep, getting involved in<br />

numerous electrical, safety, and<br />

carpentry projects.<br />
