contract <strong>with</strong> the Department, Local Mental Health Authority, or other entity<br />
as contracted by the Department.<br />
(19) "Community Living and Inclusion <strong>Support</strong>s" mean services that<br />
facilitate independence and promote community integration by supporting<br />
the individual to gain or maintain skills to live as independently as possible<br />
in the type of <strong>home</strong> the individual chooses. Community living and inclusion<br />
supports provide support <strong>for</strong> the individual to participate in activities in<br />
integrated settings that promote community inclusion and contribution.<br />
(a) Community living and inclusion supports include supports<br />
designed to develop or maintain skills <strong>for</strong> self-care, ability to direct<br />
supports, care of the immediate environment, and may include<br />
instruction in skills an individual wishes to acquire, retain, or improve<br />
that enhance independence, productivity, integration, or maintain the<br />
individual's physical and mental skills. Community living and inclusion<br />
supports include supports in the following areas:<br />
(A) Personal skills, which includes eating, bathing, dressing,<br />
personal hygiene, and mobility;<br />
(B) Socialization, which includes development or maintenance<br />
of self-awareness and self-control, social responsiveness,<br />
social amenities, and interpersonal skills;<br />
(C) Community participation, recreation, or leisure, which<br />
includes the development or maintenance of skills to use<br />
available community services, facilities, or businesses;<br />
(D) Communication, which includes development or<br />
maintenance of expressive and receptive skills in verbal and<br />
non-verbal language and the functional application of acquired<br />
reading and writing skills; and<br />
(E) Personal environmental skills, which includes development<br />
or maintenance of skills such as planning and preparing meals,<br />
budgeting, laundry, and housecleaning.<br />
(b) Community living and inclusion supports may or may not be work<br />
related.<br />
