The functions of the Ministry include:<br />

Mainstreaming of women’s <strong>and</strong> gender<br />

concerns in the planning process <strong>and</strong> all policy<br />

areas; review of laws that are disadvantageous<br />

to women; allocation of additional resources<br />

to develop women’s micro-enterprise financial<br />

institutions to be encouraged to review<br />

lending policies to disadvantaged women <strong>and</strong><br />

young women who lack traditional sources<br />

of collateral; gender balanced partnership at<br />

all levels of decision making <strong>and</strong> assigning<br />

fifty per cent of representation, participation,<br />

training, appointments <strong>and</strong> promoting at<br />

all levels of government to women on merit<br />

<strong>and</strong> as appropriate <strong>and</strong> encourage the same<br />

in the private sector; campaign to promote a<br />

sound <strong>and</strong> stable environment that is free of<br />

violence, especially domestic violence, sexual<br />
