Bruce directed by Chinati’s Associate
Director Rob Weiner. Wallace
Shawn and Deborah Eisenberg read
the play’s leading rolls, and the supporting
cast featured local residents,
friends, and special guests. A second
public performance was held
on Saturday for Open House visitors
and the Marfa community.

Conservator
Hired at Chinati
The Chinati Foundation is pleased to
announce the addition of a new staff
member, Francesca Esmay, as the
museum’s first full-time conservator.
She holds a Masters Degree from
Columbia University’s graduate program
in Architectural Conservation
and has worked in the Objects Conservation
departments of the Museum
of Modern Art and the
Metropolitan Museum of Art in New
York. At Chinati, she supervises the
establishment of a new conservation
studio and laboratory.

Judd Exhibitions
in Europe
In 2002, three European museums
will present major exhibitions of Donald
Judd’s work. Tate Modern in London
and the Stedelijk Museum in

Amsterdam are collaborating on the
first major Judd retrospective since
the artist’s death in 1994, and an
exhibition organized by the Bielefeld
Kunsthalle in Germany will concentrate
on Judd’s early work. The Bielefeld
exhibition opens on May 5 and
remains on view through July 21,
2002. With approximately 70 works
including paintings from the 1950s,
drawings, and sculpture, Bielefeld
will feature exemplary Judd works
that have never been exhibited. The
show is being curated by Thomas
Kellein and will be accompanied by
an illustrated catalogue.

Exhibiciones de
Judd en Europa
