Bruce directed by <strong>Chinati</strong>’s Associate<br />

Director Rob Weiner. Wallace<br />

Shawn and Deborah Eisenberg read<br />

the play’s leading rolls, and the supporting<br />

cast featured local residents,<br />

friends, and special guests. A se<strong>con</strong>d<br />

public performance was held<br />

on Saturday for Open House visitors<br />

and the Marfa community.<br />

Conservator<br />

Hired at <strong>Chinati</strong><br />

<strong>The</strong> <strong>Chinati</strong> <strong>Foundation</strong> is pleased to<br />

announce the addition of a new staff<br />

member, Francesca Esmay, as the<br />

museum’s first full-time <strong>con</strong>servator.<br />

She holds a Masters Degree from<br />

Columbia University’s graduate program<br />

in Architectural Conservation<br />

and has worked in the Objects Conservation<br />

departments of the Museum<br />

of Modern Art and the<br />

Metropolitan Museum of Art in New<br />

York. At <strong>Chinati</strong>, she supervises the<br />

establishment of a new <strong>con</strong>servation<br />

studio and laboratory.<br />

Judd Exhibitions<br />

in Europe<br />

In 2002, three European museums<br />

will present major exhibitions of Donald<br />

Judd’s work. Tate Modern in London<br />

and the Stedelijk Museum in<br />

Amsterdam are collaborating on the<br />

first major Judd retrospective since<br />

the artist’s death in 1994, and an<br />

exhibition organized by the Bielefeld<br />

Kunsthalle in Germany will <strong>con</strong>centrate<br />

on Judd’s early work. <strong>The</strong> Bielefeld<br />

exhibition opens on May 5 and<br />

remains on view through July 21,<br />

2002. With approximately 70 works<br />

including paintings from the 1950s,<br />

drawings, and sculpture, Bielefeld<br />

will feature exemplary Judd works<br />

that have never been exhibited. <strong>The</strong><br />

show is being curated by Thomas<br />

Kellein and will be accompanied by<br />

an illustrated catalogue.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Tate Modern/Stedelijk Museum<br />

retrospective will first be shown in<br />

Amsterdam, where it will open in<br />

late May and remain on view<br />

Exhibiciones de<br />

Judd en Europa<br />

En el año 2002 habrá importantes exhibiciones<br />

de la obra de Donald Judd<br />

en tres museos europeos. El museo Tate<br />

Modern de Londres y el Stedelijk de<br />

Amsterdam están en colaboración para<br />

hacer la primera exhibición retrospectiva<br />

desde la muerte del artista en<br />

1994, mientras que otra exhibición organizada<br />

por el Bielefeld Kunsthalle en<br />

Alemania, que se celebrará del 5 de<br />
