JULIAN DASHPER, New Zealand,
2001: The Chinati Foundation was
Julian’s host organization during his
year as a Fulbright Scholar in the
US. In addition to Marfa, he spent
time in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles,
and Nebraska to conduct research
on artists’ archives and
archiving systems. His residency
concluded with an exhibition at the
Locker Plant during Chinati’s May
symposium on Dan Flavin Forthcoming

Germany; Auckland and Wellington,
New Zealand; Amsterdam, Holland;
and Sydney, Australia.
RUPERT DEESE, USA, 1994: During
the past few years, Rupert has had
several solo exhibitions at the Nancy
Hoffman Gallery in New York
City, including shows of paintings in
2000 and prints in 1999. He recently
published two limited edition
books, Surf Music and The Center of
the Lake, combining his prints with
poems by Sam Deese and Todd
Young. These limited edition books
were presented at a reading with
the poets at the Marfa Book Company
during Chinati’s May symposium.

and 1999: Drawings Rackstraw
made during his first stay at Chinati
were exhibited at Texas Gallery,
Houston and Marlborough Gallery,
New York, in 1998. The related
paintings were shown during the
Chinati Foundation Open House in

his residency Jeff moved from Houston
to New York, where he had a solo
exhibition at the Pat Hearn
Gallery in 2000. He was included
in Dave Hickey’s exhibition Fabstraction,
which opened at the University
of Nevada Art Gallery in
1998 and traveled to the Texas
Gallery, Houston. This year he was
included in the Whitney Museum’s
BitStreams exhibition, and he is currently
preparing a solo exhibition to
be held at Leo Koenig Gallery, New
York.
ANGELINA FERREIRA, Portugal, 1996:
Angelina’s work has recently been
shown at Centro Galego de Arte
Contemporanea, Spain and Museo
Extremeño e Iberoamericano de
Arte Contemporáneo, Spain. She
was invited to create an outdoor
work as part of Villa Expo, Largo
das Bicas, Alemeda dos Oceanos.
