What’s Happening at <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Agnes</strong> School...<br />
Reading Incentive Party<br />
88 Pre-K-5 th grade students attended the 1 st semester<br />
reading incentive party on Friday, January 11. This event<br />
was the reward for having met the reading goal 3 out of<br />
4 months in the first semester. <strong>St</strong>udents enjoyed<br />
presentations by the Scottsbluff National Monument,<br />
and an expert on bird watching as well as making their<br />
own bird feeder using a pinecone and peanut butter.<br />
They also enjoyed a visit from some unique zoo animals.<br />
<strong>St</strong>udents will be working hard in the 2 nd semester to<br />
meet the reading goal as the incentive prize is a real-life<br />
campout!<br />

On January 23, Pre-K -5 th grade<br />
students will be participating in<br />
the Jump Rope for Heart Event<br />
to help raise awareness of the<br />
importance of being heart<br />
healthy.<br />
<strong>St</strong>udents will be collecting<br />
donations to support the<br />
American Heart Association.<br />
Anyone wishing to donate to this<br />
cause may contact a <strong>St</strong>. <strong>Agnes</strong> School student or Julie<br />
Brown.<br />
The event will include a bounce house, jumping contests,<br />
informational stations, as well a visit from nutrition<br />
specialist, Mary Skiles. Our goal is to raise each child’s<br />
awareness of the importance of starting now to take care<br />
of their heart.<br />
End of Semester<br />
Friday, January 11, marked the end of the first semester.<br />
Report cards were sent home on Friday, Jan. 18 th .<br />
Parents should review their child’s progress with them<br />
then return the necessary material to the teacher.<br />
