Rey & Lenferna Limited is one of the oldest “Engineering” companies in Mauritius. The clients and patrons of Rey &Lenferna range from 

individual home owners, private organizations to governmental corporations. 

Rey & Lenferna was incorporated some 72 years ago and has ever since been involved, in the pre and post Independence Era, in a vast 

number of building and engineering projects in Mauritius and has actively participated in the build-up of Modern Mauritius by offering 

World Class engineering products and solutions to Government Institutions, Business organizations and Industries operating in Mauritius. 

Rey & Lenferna holds over 50 exclusive brand representations with major Engineering Equipment manufacturers and primarily deals 

in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works in partnership with major Civil Engineering Building companies and contractors in 

Mauritius and has recently been exporting its “savoir faire” to other countries in the region. 

The company presently employs about 500 persons out of which 100-150 highly committed engineers, sales and service staff who 

support the most stringent request for Mechanical, Electrical, Automation and other Ventilation services. Rey & Lenferna’s value 

proposition is underpinned by Service Value Addition, from Design to Execution. Implementation/Installation, Commissioning and User 

Training. 

The product strategy of Rey & Lenferna is, in substance, to diversify its activities and markets without changing its core business 

structure. In fact, more complementary and supplementary value items are being added to its product spectrum targeting different 

segments of the market. 

A good example is Rey & Lenferna’s new array of energy saving products and greener power generation solutions from renewable and 

cleaner sources of energy in line with the government MID (Maurice Ile Durable) strategy such as the range of solar electric system, also 

known as photovoltaic or PV system which is not only pollution-free but reliable and highly efficient. 

Rey & Lenferna’s objective is to provide a ‘one stop shop’ service and turnkey domestic and industrial solutions to its customers thus 

contributing in reducing lead times and cost by consolidating their wish list through one and same supplier.

Company’s Overview 

Rey & Lenferna Ltd was founded in 1940 with the prime objectives of supplying goods and services to the industry sector in Mauritius. 

Over the years, the company diversified its activities and today covers a wide range of engineering related fields and with a firm footage 

in the building sector by providing installation services in Air-conditioning, Electrical, Plumbing-fire fighting and Lift and Escalators. 

Rey & Lenferna today has 4 main divisions:

(a) Automotive division comprises of 

• the Diesel Diagnostics department which handles diagnostics/ repairs/ maintenance of injection pumps for all vehicles, 

• the Battery department which supplies various types of batteries for automobile fleet, forklifts, tractors and golf cars besides 

chargers & testers, 

• and the Automotive department which commercialises spare parts and lubricants.

Air Conditioning Solutions 

The Department commercializes since 2003,Midea brand split type air conditioning systems such as 

wall mounted type, ceiling / floor convertible type, ducted type and cassette type for capacities ranging 

from 9000 to 60000 Btu suiting various domestic and commercial applications. Midea outdoor units are 

moreover specially treated for our tropical island. 

Midea is one of the leading manufacturers of air conditioners and has been able to build quality products at 

competitive prices. Its compressor manufacturing partnership with Toshiba and its high tech assembly plant 

in China have been a winning combination. We are excited to represent Midea in Mauritius, a brand which 

has already gained customer satisfaction in terms of performance and quality. 

To be in line with greener technologies, we have the Midea Inverter AC with class A rating enabling up to 

70% energy savings (test performed by the chairman of Institute of Refrigeration- Mauritius). Moreover, 

our New PREMIER model Inverter AC combines better savings (Class A+ rating), new technology (The 

Intelligent Eye Detector) and comfort (AC with the lowest available noise level of 20dBA). 

We can also design and build central type variable refrigerant flow systems (Midea VRV systems) with one 

outdoor unit and multiple indoor units for medium type air conditioning projects and TRANE chillers for 

larger type projects. 

To complete our offer, we supply Novovent fans & accessoriesfor providing adequate ventilation for 

kitchen, toilets, warehouses, workshops, etc.

Electrical Solutions 

The Electrical Solutions department is involved in the building sector. We represent a number of famous 

brands such as Osram, GE, Allen-Bradley, Comar, Fael Luce, Lysaght, 3M, Mennekes, Ferraz-Shawmut, Satec, 

Crompton, KEI, Eland, IMEB and Zennaro, home automation Bticino, LED lamps Edison- Everlight, Cree 

The department sells the following electrical products either directly to individuals and to companies 

in various markets (such as sugar, hotels, building contractors, textile & manufacturing industries among 

others) or through a retail distribution network: energy-saving bulbs, cables and accessories, circuit 

breakers, isolators, fused switches, fuses, contactors, overload relays, metal and polyester enclosures, 

motors and accessories, power transformers, lamps, fluorescent tubes, lighting poles, industrial plugs and 

sockets, meters and CT’s, insulating tapes and carbon brushes. 

We are also involved in tailor made panel building. Panels are designed by our engineers, assembled by 

our workshop to high standards. The panels are mostly for low voltage (400V) applications. The two main 

types of panels supplied are: motor control (e.g. starters for pumps) and power distribution (e.g. industrial 

distribution panels). 

The department also supplies eco solutions such as led lamps & floodlights, low energy halogen lighting, 

energy saving lamps and photovoltaic systems. Getting more and more involved with architects and interior 

designers have helped to develop decorative lighting and electrical solutions.

Industrial Solutions 

The Industrial Solutions Department provides products, solutions and services in the fields of engineering 

for different industries in Mauritius and the region. Starting as a pioneer in supporting the Sugar Industry. 

the department has, over the years, diversified its activities in other economic sectors such as textile, food 

& beverages or hotels. 

Our main brands are Rockwell Automation, Endress & Hauser, Avery, Spirax Sarco, Alfa Laval, Rocol, 

Compair, Konecranes and Broadbent among many others. Our team of competent, fully trained engineers 

and salespersons supported by our reputed overseas suppliers so that we can perfectly serve our clients’ 

needs in terms of specialized products and services. 

The department is active in the following areas: 

Material Handling and Warehousing – we supply racking, shelving, lift trucks, hoists, cranes, goods lifts – 

which are the main essential equipment for a warehouse. 

Steam and Energy – boilers, burners, burner management system, steam and condensate equipment, pipe 

insulation – we can offer every products related to steam and energy conservation. Our capability of 

offering counselling and support for steam products and applications is very well known in the industry. 

Fluids – We offer products for fluid handling, storage and conditioning – pumps, pipeline accessories, tanks 

and accessories, heat exchangers, centrifugals and separators, air compressors, extraction of air etc .

Security & Power Solutions 

Created in 2002 as the UPS department, renamed Electronic & UPS department it is now known as the 

Security Solutions Department. 

The department provides turnkey electronic security solutions both to the domestic and commercial 

markets, from the design to installation with expert’s site visit and advice. 

Our partnership with HIKVISION, ranked No.1 in Asia, has helped to propose a range of video surveillance 

solutions ranging from Analog cameras, to network/IP cameras and network/hybrid video recorders. We 

also provide Video IP Encoders to upgrade existing analog CCTv system to an IP system in a cost effective 

way. 

Gate Automation is another popular and highly demanded product. Thanks to our partnership with 

BENINCA, we offer swinging and/or sliding automated gate solutions, garage doors, barriers or parking 

locks. Our experienced sales staff will recommend the right solution based on your requirements. To 

complement the gate automation market, we also provide door entry systems (intercom/video interphone) 

from AUTA for domestic, residential complexes and apartments. 

The security solutions department also supply and installs fire detection alarm systems from KENTEC 

and a full range of access control solutions ranging from card system to fingerprint and face recognition 

systems. 

With the increasing market demand for electronic security, we are now focusing on cost effective wireless 

burglar alarm systems as well as electric fencing solutions for domestic, residential complexes and 

commercial markets. 

Completing the offer, the department supplies back up solutions (Gesan Generators from Spain) and 

protective equipment (GE & Socomec UPS systems) for both domestic and industrial applications.

Water Solutions 

The water solutions department specializes in the sales and after sales service of water related products 

such as water pumps, solar water heaters, gas and electric water heaters, hot water boilers, swimming pool 

and garden equipment, water purifiers and pressure cleaners. 

A wide range of well known products from the world most famous manufacturers are commercialized 

to cater for the domestic, commercial, industrial, and hotel industry requirements; our brands are Davey, 

Edwards, Like, Nocchi, Comet, Wilo-Emu, Sunrain, Riello, Procopi, KSB-Ajax, SPP Pumps, Ariston and 

Fiberpool Spa among many others. 

A team of experienced sales representatives advises and helps the customers to choose the right product 

and also ensure that the equipment provided meets their requirements. 

The water engineering department benefits from long standing partnerships with suppliers, such as with 

Davey Pumps for over 30 years. Long-term relationship with our suppliers, availability of spare parts, and

Contracting Division 


Rey & Lenferna Ltd has been serving the construction industry for more than 20 years now. The Contracting Division is a real one stop 

shop for M&E services. We indeed have many years of working experience in the HVAC, Electrical, Lifts, Public Health & Fire fighting 

services. 

The Division has recently undergone some structural change in order to better serve the industry. With more emphasis on the 

engineering side with the addition of experienced building services engineers to our team, we are today in a position to offer real 

turnkey solutions to our valued Clients. Our long lasting business relationships with internationally renowned suppliers allow us to offer 

quality products and services to our customers. 

With a workforce of more than 250 employees, the Contracting Division is one of the major players on the local market. We have 

surrounded ourselves with experienced people, some of which have proven international experience. Our strong relationships with 

international recruiting agents provides us with the possibility of staffing our projects with expatriates up to contract management level. 

However, all staff operate in our well defined structure to provide the Client with the required Quality on Time. Quality has in fact

The Electrical Project Department with its re-organized team of young and dynamic Engineers and 

Electricians has witnessed a remarkable growth in the last three years. The Department focuses on 

medium and large scale Electrical Projects both MV & LV for Offices and Commercial Buildings, Hotels,

Lifts, Escalators & Travellators 

Rey & Lenferna Lifts & Escalators Department provides, in partnership with KONE, complete and 

innovative solutions for the installation, maintenance and modernization of elevators, escalators & auto 

walks. Elevators, escalators & auto walks help people move, make buildings functional and link them with 

their surroundings. Every day, thousands of people in Mauritius and millions round the world use KONE 

transportation systems to move efficiently from one place to another. KONE is an expert in people flow 

management, enabling the efficient flow of goods and people in buildings and other places where access 

would be difficult without reliable internal transportation systems. 

Rey & Lenferna Lifts & Escalators Department offers vertical transportation solutions according to the 

purpose of the building. The main segments are categorized as residential, office & retail, as well as public 

transportation and airports. In addition, Rey & Lenferna also serves hospitals, leisure centers, hotels and 

industrial properties. Rey & Lenferna’s key customers are builders, building owners, facility managers and

Public Health, Fire Fighting & Turf Irrigation 

Rey & Lenferna Contracting Division designs and implements projects for: Public Health, Fire Fighting (incl. 

Fire Suppression), Turf Irrigation & Swimming Pools. 

Our scope of supplies varies from small units to large complete systems. 

The department works in close relation with the electrical and air conditioning departments putting Rey & 

Lenferna in a position to be able to offer complete M & E services. 

For public health and fire fighting we supply according to the design specified and propose designs for 

clients wishing turnkey solutions. We have extensive experience in hot water as well as cold water supply 

for hotels and apartment complexes. 

With respect to turf and landscape irrigation we work with our partner Controlled Irrigation from South 

Africa to provide the most cost effective designs with quality products from Nelson Turf (USA).

For over 60 years, Rey & Lenferna has been in the battery business. The department supplies:

• Traction Batteries ( Motive Power) for Electric Forklifts/ Stackers/ Reach Trucks etc

The three brands have one thing in common: lasting performance! Today thanks to our foreign partners, 

our showroom at Bell Village, and the resellers throughout the island, we are the leader in the automotive 

battery market. 

Our batteries are not only used by forklift operators, motorcycles, trucks & lorries, and tractors. Recently 

we installed over 110 Planté batteries and associated chargers in a power station. We also offer GnB 

(from Germany) and Exide (from India) motive power batteries & chargers for electric forklifts, 

US Batteries (from the USA) for deep cycle golf cart batteries, and valve regulated lead acid Sonnensetein 

batteries (from Germany) for Telecom & solar applications.

The Diesel Diagnostic department is specialized in the repairs of diesel fuel injection pumps for all diesel

We are equipped with fully computerised Hartridge and Bosch test benches, which contribute to provide 

precise settings and is time saving. These test benches are essential for the calibration of the new type of 

pumps that are running on diesel engines today, such as Bosch VP pumps & all makes common rail pumps & 

injectors. 

We represent Delphi, Stanadyne & Hartridge products in Mauritius. They supply us with genuine parts and 

equipment to provide our customers the best quality service available. Our qualified technicians, some of 

which have been with us for over 30 years are up to date with the latest technology and attend training 

courses at least once a year. We also have a diagnostic centre on our premises at Bell Village. We inspect 

client vehicles before either doing the complete servicing or removing the fuel pump and Injectors for 

further repairs in our workshop.

The Service Division has been reorganized to respond to the increasing needs of our customers to be well cared and delighted by the

We provide rapid and dedicated services and our efforts are focused to reduce the waiting and repair time to a minimum.

through our in house Training Center with the continuous support of these suppliers, who like us believe in high class service support. 

Our repair workshops are fully equipped with the latest tools technology to handle any repair in the shortest possible time. 

Most of our customers experience our maintenance agreements service contracts which give them “peace of mind”. Regular 

maintenance lower owning & operating costs and increase service life of the equipment. This service is always coupled with a 24h/7days 

emergency response service.
