CHARACTERISTIC<br />
FEATURES<br />
The <strong>KFS</strong>-5/i type <strong>emergency</strong> <strong>switch</strong> is suitable to stop<br />
and lockout machines and devices in <strong>emergency</strong>.<br />
Its basic application is cooperation with automatics<br />
system of belt conveyors in order to enable to stop<br />
the conveyor in <strong>emergency</strong> from any place along the<br />
route. It’s assigned for work inside intrinsically <strong>safe</strong><br />
circuits and it may be used inside mine underground<br />
rooms with the „a”, „b” & „c” explosion hazard grade or<br />
with the „A” or „B” coal dust explosion hazard class.<br />
The <strong>KFS</strong>-5/i <strong>switch</strong> fully substitutes the <strong>KFS</strong>-5 one.<br />
This <strong>switch</strong> is used e.g. in USPP systems together<br />
with the ZLS-1, ZLS-2, ZLS-3 or ZLS-2i, ZLS-2w units<br />
in the USPP circuit with the ZS-05 unit.<br />
„ZEG” S.A. produces also the <strong>KFS</strong>-5/n type <strong>emergency</strong><br />
<strong>switch</strong>es, suitable for work in the circuits<br />
with the voltage up to 250 V AC/DC and they may<br />
be used inside underground methane-free mine<br />
excavations or rooms classifi ed as the „a” explosion<br />
hazard grade ones as well as in the surface<br />
factories of different industry branches.<br />

FUNCTIONAL<br />
DESCRIPTION<br />
The conveyor belt sliding aside starts to rub against<br />
contact strip and causes its warming-up. The strip<br />
temperature is continuously measured by the gauge<br />
head and this value is converted to a digital electric<br />
signal sent to microprocessor. After proper processing<br />
this signal from microprocessor is delivered through<br />
the RS485 connector to output terminals, and then<br />
through proper cable it can be sent to superior device<br />
that controls work of single conveyor or entire haulage<br />
system.<br />
The ICT-1p sensor differs from the ICT-1 one with the<br />
built-in, microprocessor-controlled relay only. The relay<br />
operating contacts are connected to output terminals.<br />
The built-in relay enables additional sensor applications:<br />
the contact may be placed wherever is necessary<br />
to deliver a two-status information and also a galvanic<br />
separation from the measurement circuit is<br />
required,<br />
when using proper software the sensor can work<br />
independently and its contact may be located directly<br />
in the conveyor control circuit.<br />
Temperature sensors are installed at conveyor’s sore<br />
points: drive, turning station, loop-shaped belt dispenser.<br />
The conveyor manufacturers make in such<br />
points, under side shields, proper diameter holes suitable<br />
for installation of such sensors.<br />
