Bonnle Raltt has not appeared in the
Toronto area for well over a decade,
and her soullul vocals have been sorely
missed. Now as well-known lor her
commitment to a variely of important
causgs as she is as a performer, Bonnie
Raitt is stillone of the best slidE
guitar players playing anywhere, and
her music - informed by the blues tradition
and tempered by a number of
line songwriters, whose work she admires
- is still as fresh and vital as
ever it was.
Moses Rascoe may be 71 years old,
br.rt he's a classic country blues player
who seems to get better all thE time,
and he's going to reach even bigger audiencEs
than he did when he made his
Mariposa debut last year. He bEcame a
professional musician only a couple of
years ago, but he brings a lifetime of
playing and singing experience to his
audiencEs. For 40 years as a truck driver,
he kept his guitar by his side, both
for company on long runs, and as a
msans to earn some exlra cash from
time to time in bars and after-hours
joints. Now he's building a n6w c€treer
in folk clubs, at concsrts and lestivals

Jlm Rlder is a Toronto singer and
songwriter who has played a major role
in bringing acoustic music back to wider
audiences in Toronto clubs. He'll be
hosting an open stago at Mariposa, and
helping introduce some good n€wcomers
to the joys and uncertainties of
playing to live audiences.
