FEATURES
Machine system start-up and the related air surge it creates can both damage and reduce the operating
efficiency of its pneumatic components. Over time, air surge component slamming takes an even heavier
toll on the machine’s overall productivity and on your maintenance schedule. With ARO’s new Soft-start
Valves, you can eliminate the surge at start-up. And with our quick-relief models, remove the hazard at
shut-down ... all in one convenient, space-efficient package.
• Big Space Savings — The Compact Series Solenoid Soft-start with exhaust puts the two critical
features into one compact, easy-to-install package. Saving you operating space, time, and money.
• Three Distinct Styles —
1. Pilot Soft-start: When pressure is supplied to the inlet port, an internal pilot is actuated and slow
pressurization of the system begins. Once downstream pressure reaches 60% of operating pressure,
the valve opens to full-flow mode. An adjustable metering screw allows setting the time it takes to
get up to full system pressure.
2. Solenoid Soft-start without relief exhaust: Contains the same capabilities as the pilot version
only using a current-actuated solenoid with a DIN-style coil. The solenoid version also features an
override that permits manual initiation of the “soft-start” sequence.
3. Solenoid Soft-start with relief exhaust: Solenoid actuation and manual override features are
coupled with an exhaust capability that releases pressure to the atmosphere through the bottom of
the valve permitting system shut-down.
• Three Port Sizes — Choose from 1/4", 3/8" or 1/2" ports
• Compact Series — The ARO Soft-start Valves are designed for quick and easy in-line installation with
our Compact Series air prep units for a clean, consistent appearance and impeccable performance.
