1. It takes Uncle Curtis three tries to fi nd the exit to Mount Tamalpais.<br />

When Uncle Curtis fi nally makes it to the park, he is given a map of the<br />

campgrounds. He “didn’t even glance at it but threw it into the backseat.” Do<br />

you think he made a wise decision when he chose to ignore the map?<br />

2. Teddy and Bobby wear clothes appropriate for a San Francisco summer—<br />

sweatshirts and corduroys. The weather forecast for Mount Tamalpais<br />

is hot and humid. Teddy and Bobby decide to pack only sweatshirts and<br />

corduroys to take to the camp. What do you think of their clothing decision?<br />

3. Teddy and Bobby fi nd that the hot dogs and hamburgers, which Teddy had<br />

packed in dry ice, are frozen solid. But Uncle Curtis tries to grill the frozen<br />

food before it has thawed. Do you think that Teddy’s method of packing the<br />

meat was successful?<br />
