need to be cleaned thoroughly; the clarity will
surprise you!
INTERIOR—Carpeting and upholstery
should get a thorough vacuuming, along with a
vinyl or leather treatment on seating and dash
surfaces, vents and controls.
MECHANICAL—Oil is an engine’s lifeblood.
Your last vehicle servicing was probably
in the fall, and our extended winter, with
temperature fluctuations, depletes engine oil
life. Local dealership and service shop experts
recommend either a good synthetic or blended
synthetic oil. The cost is a bit higher, but synthetic
lubricants last longer than conventional
oils. Coolant condition should be checked along
with battery condition, and all other fluids
topped off.
For motorheads, these chores can be enjoyable,
especially on one of the first nice, sunny
spring Saturdays, but for drivers not so inclined,
there are detailing services available at our local
dealerships that are complete and economical.
Either way, a favorite ride just seems to run
better when clean and well maintained. Our rides
are probably the second largest investment we
make outside of our homes. Let’s drive 'em, enjoy
'em, and above all, drive safely and responsibly.
