Purpose
Audience
This guide describes the procedures for installing a Spacenet very small aperture
terminal (VSAT) at a Dollar General store location. It supplements the detailed
procedures in the Spacenet VSAT Installation Guide.
This guide is for installers of Spacenet VSATs. It assumes that the installer is familiar
with the procedures described in the Spacenet VSAT Installation Guide.
Organization
This guide contains the following chapters:
� Chapter 1, “Introduction,” provides overview information about the VSAT installation
� Chapter 2, “Installing the VSAT,” describes actions to perform before beginning the
VSAT installation
� Chapter 3, “IDU Installation and System Testing,” describes how to connect the
customer’s host PC to the indoor unit (IDU) and testing the system
� Appendix A, “Contact Information” lists the names, telephone numbers, and e-mail
addresses of persons to contact for questions or problems with the installation
� Appendix B, “Quick Guide to Using VACS,” briefly describes installing and
commissioning a site using the configuration script and the VSAT Automated
Commissioning System (VACS)
� Appendix C, “Installation Parameters,” lists the parameters to enter when configuring
the IDU
� Appendix D, “Bill of Materials,” lists the materials required to complete the installation
� Appendix E, “Job Completion Form,” contains the form necessary to complete the
VSAT installation.
