Candidature for the Women and Fencing Council<br />

Through recommendation of Madam Nathalie Rodriguez we write to request that the candidature of<br />
Dr Judith Molka-Danielsen be accepted as proposed by the Norwegian Fencing Federation for the<br />
Women and Fencing Council.<br />
There has been a question arising based on nationality. Molka-Danielsen is a resident of Norway for<br />
17 years, and holds a US Passport with residency rights approved for Norway, where she has full civil<br />
rights in Norway.<br />
We had observed the <strong>FIE</strong> Statutes (dated May 2012) do not state explicitly nationality requirements<br />
for council membership. Mrs. Rodriguez explained to us that it has been the decision of the <strong>FIE</strong><br />
Executive Committee to extend the rules for commissions to apply for councils, and recommended<br />
that we write to the EC to explain our situation.<br />
Dr. Judith Molka-Danielsen has represented our federation as Vice President on the national board<br />
and as board representative for over 6 years. She is also President of one of the national clubs. There<br />
are no other candidates at this time that we are able to put forward. We hope that the committee<br />
can accept her candidature.<br />
