Leadership in Fencing
Judith Molka-Danielsen was the elected Vice President of the Norwegian Fencing Federation (est.
1911) for the period of 2008- April 2012 and was elected member of the NFF board in 2006-2008. She is
at present a member of the NFF board for the period 2012-2014.
Judith has organized National Cups (NC Cups) in epee in Norway since 2005. She was lead
organizer for the Senior and Veteran Epee National Fencing Championship in 2008 (NM 2008),
for the Junior Epee NM in 2010 and for the Senior & Veteran Epee NM in 2011. The 2011 NM was
organized as one of the events in the celebration of the 100 Year Jubilee of the Norwegian Fencing
Federation, of which Judith was also a member of the celebration committee.
Judith is President of the Molde Fencing Club (MF) in Molde, Norway since 2010. With MF, we are
implementing a school-time fencing program that is part of the regional development goals for fencing in
Mid-Norway, where fencing is still a less encountered sport. We hope, since the success of Bartosz
Piasecki in the 2012 Olympics that our efforts to introduce fencing will meet with great interest.
Although having a late start, Judith has been fencing epee since 2001 under the guidance of fencing
master Ton Hazes. She has competed in national events and several FIE Satellite Cups since 2003.

Through recommendation of Madam Nathalie Rodriguez we write to request that the candidature of
Dr Judith Molka-Danielsen be accepted as proposed by the Norwegian Fencing Federation for the
Women and Fencing Council.
There has been a question arising based on nationality. Molka-Danielsen is a resident of Norway for
17 years, and holds a US Passport with residency rights approved for Norway, where she has full civil
rights in Norway.
We had observed the FIE Statutes (dated May 2012) do not state explicitly nationality requirements
for council membership. Mrs. Rodriguez explained to us that it has been the decision of the FIE
Executive Committee to extend the rules for commissions to apply for councils, and recommended
that we write to the EC to explain our situation.
Dr. Judith Molka-Danielsen has represented our federation as Vice President on the national board
and as board representative for over 6 years. She is also President of one of the national clubs. There
are no other candidates at this time that we are able to put forward. We hope that the committee
can accept her candidature.

From 1994 to 2001 I studied Arabic philology in Sofia University « Kliment Ohridski », Bulgaria. I specialized
in and extended my investigations of Jordanian and Libyan dialects and I prepared an article about the Libyan dialect
spoken in the region of Al-Ghoufra. In the meantime I continued my education in French language which includes
Grammars, Civilization, Literature etc.
I worked for many years as a translator into French, English and Arabic. From December 2003 I began a
work in the Bulgarian Fencing Federation. I helped the organization of the World Fencing Championships cadets and
juniors held in Plovdiv in 2004 and the sabre Grand Prix competition « Asparoukh’s sword » held every year.
For now I work as an executive director in the federation where I organize the relations between the
International Fencing Federation and the European Fencing Federation. The last year the women in the Bulgarian
Fencing we founded a Bulgarian women association. Our objectives are to organize competitions with women referees
and to introduce more women to the training and refereeing activities, to encourage more women to practice fencing and
to participate in the training processus.
