50 th Anniversary Event – Saturday, May 19 th 2012 – 10 AM - 4 PM<br />

Mark your calendar and save Saturday, May 19 th for a special Historic Buildings Tour.<br />

As of April 30 th , <strong>the</strong> buildings on <strong>the</strong> tour include <strong>the</strong> following:<br />

1. Van Wyck Homestead Museum – Starting Point for Tours.<br />

2. Piano, Piano Wine Bar formerly a bank and later <strong>Fishkill</strong> Town Hall circa 1857.<br />

3. Paggi Building – mid 19 th century residence.<br />

4. Maurer House – early 19 th century residence.<br />

5. Paula's Stone Cottage Wine Bar, corner Main & Broad (Original <strong>Fishkill</strong> Library).<br />

6. First Reformed Church (Old Dutch Church) – Established 1716.<br />

7. Trinity Episcopal Church.<br />

8. Larry Paggi Engineering – corner Bedford & Broad Streets.<br />

9. St. Mary’s Chapel.<br />

10. Van Geldern House.<br />

11. Carriage House.<br />

12. Brownell House – Kitchen in <strong>the</strong> rear is believed to be what was<br />

part of Three-Tun Tavern shown on Revolutionary War Map.<br />

13. Hendrick Kip House circa 1753.<br />

14. Brinckerhoff House / Van Voorhis House (Lomola) – circa 1738.<br />

15. Hoose House – circa 1845.<br />

16. McHoul Funeral Home (Shillelagh – 1803) Tours after 1 pm.<br />

17. Madam Brett Homestead – Built in 1709 – oldest house in Dutchess County.<br />

18. Former Telephone Building – 291 Main St. Beacon.<br />

19. Round House in Beacon – after 4:00 pm (Last building on <strong>the</strong> Tours).<br />

As you can see we have quite a list of buildings to see. Sign up for your tickets in advance<br />

of <strong>the</strong> date. The form is enclosed below. All participants must pick up <strong>the</strong>ir map and<br />

booklet at <strong>the</strong> Van Wyck Homestead Museum <strong>the</strong> day of <strong>the</strong> tour – Saturday, May 19th.<br />

No one will be allowed in <strong>the</strong> buildings without <strong>the</strong>ir ticket.<br />

Please complete <strong>the</strong> Registration Form below. “Donation” is $20 per FHS Member;<br />

$25 for non-members if payment is received by Tuesday, May 15 th . $30 on May 19 th .<br />

50 th Anniversary Committee<br />

Please Note: The 50 th Anniversary Committee has arranged for a special booklet to be<br />

<strong>print</strong>ed with a sketch / photo of each building on <strong>the</strong> “Historic Buildings Tour” plus some<br />

background info about each house, church or building. The <strong>Fishkill</strong> <strong>Historical</strong> <strong>Society</strong><br />

is selling Ads in <strong>the</strong> booklet as a fundraiser to help preserve our antique artifacts. If you<br />

wish to place an Ad, please fill out <strong>the</strong> Ad form attached below, and submit it with your<br />

“50 th Anniversary Donation” by May 10 th . A simple one line Ad is just $5.00.

Historic Buildings Tour<br />

The <strong>Fishkill</strong> <strong>Historical</strong> <strong>Society</strong> is holding a <strong>Fishkill</strong> Historic Buildings Tour scheduled<br />

for Saturday, May 19 th , 2012 from 10 am to 4 pm. (Some Buildings are in Beacon also).<br />

We are producing an official Tour Booklet and selling Ads. Your Ad will also appear in <strong>the</strong><br />

50 th Anniversary booklet for our October dinner.<br />

The proceeds from <strong>the</strong> Tour Booklet will be used by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Fishkill</strong> <strong>Historical</strong> <strong>Society</strong> to<br />

purchase archival systems to preserve its historical collections in a controlled environment<br />

for future generations. If you want to place an Ad in <strong>the</strong> booklet, time is of <strong>the</strong> essence.<br />

Please return <strong>the</strong> completed form and payment by May 10, 2012.<br />
