ebsoft optimized logistics processes 

ebsoft develops and sells web-based labeling systems, including interfaces to SAP + EH &S; Navision, Kisters, ChemGes, 

Access, Excel, etc., which are used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry to ensure a standard (corporate design) labeling. 

By using a web service provided by Ebsoft, in addition, all users, including suppliers, external storage, freight forwarders,

ebsoft-labeling systems, 

which are well-known companies for a variety 

of tasks in the identification and prosecution

Important features of the ebsoft label system: 

Automatic label generation: The variable data of label applic- 

tion consists of: 

� Data Identification of printed label with product-hazardous 

materials - dangerous goods information from the ERP or 

locally from database 

� Layout instructions with placeholders for variable data 

� Control measures, requirements for the presentation on the 

label, check for completeness 

The label will be generated and tested with the help of layout 

structure and the available data in accordance with the provisions 

in the rules just in time. 

If the check is successful, the printer is generated; otherwise 

an error message is received. (Printer, screen; email). 

� It’s checked, e.g.: Text fields for completeness. Customize 

all the text information according to automatic font size adjustment 

and language reduction in the specified text field? 

If not: 

� May a larger label or supplementary label to be printed? 

All these rules can be freely defined and specified. 

� Automatic processing of tables and formulas

well as variable tray selection in laser printer 

� Only one image for all icon sizes is required (vector

Description of program modules 

M1: Graphical Layout Editor V6: 

to design labels and forms to graphically on screen 

(WYSIWYG). 

Layouts are designed, managed and stored in XML format. 

Each data field can be assigned to an arithmetic operation 

Printer-specific parameters are stored in the database and 

processed during the output accordingly. 

Layouts can be divided into different levels of layers as 

needed. This can be customized with a layout of all types of 

printers (laser printers (SW / Color, Thermotransfer). 

When creating a new layout, the required variables in a list 

of choices are made available and can be selected. An elaborate 

layout is created in less than 1 hour and operational. 

M2: MaskGenerator: 

The mask generator is integrated in the layout editor, and 

generates the created input - forms in HTML format. It‘s also 

supported by Google - Web Toolkit. 

M3: Programming: 

With the ebsoft - logistics system logistics processes can be 

optimized to an easy way. Development is under the professional 

development environment Eclipse, which is suitable 

for rugged professional use. It is characterized by a high 

integration of character that makes it possible to integrate 

external tools easily. A number of major companies involved 

in the development of the Eclipse platform have participated 

in the Eclipse project (standardization and further development). 

A module for 1 and 2-dimensional barcodes and 

RFID code is part of the system. 

With the ebsoft standard system, all required labels of the 

chemical industry are created and printed in over 30 languages 

(Product- Hazardous Materials- Hazardous Goods- 

Logistics labels). Adjustments will be carried out without programming 

with using the M11: the control module. 

M4: SQL-Datenbank 

� In the standard system, a SQL database is integrated, 

which can be used for the single-user applications, print 

servers etc. 

� For applications from multiple clients and a high volume of 

data, databases from Oracle, MS SQL and Sybase are 

supported. Other databases are on a request. 

� The database tables are coordinated in need of ebsoft on 

the particular application. During the printer treatment, locally-maintained 

data can also be made available and processed. 

� The data are provided in over 30 languages (hazard statements, 

precautionary statements, symbols, materials, labeling, 

etc., tailored to the particular application). 

� The data in Unicode processes in the standard system. If 

necessary, they can also be processed in the Central European 

(Code Page 1250), if special fonts from a marketing 

viewpoint are required. 

� The user interface is multi-national 

� The programs and extensions are managed in the data - 

base. 

� Versioning and archiving is optional possible. 

� If necessary additional data may be stored locally on the 

print server and processed, or retrieved from external systems. 


M5:ebApplication-Server: 

The eb Applications - Server is the link between the individual 

program-modules. It allows that individual modules can 

be used on different systems. The system can be used as; 

� Standalone – system 

� Client Server – System 

� Web – System in Intranet and Internet is used, 

this can involve suppliers, contract fillers, carri 

ers, foreign stock, without much effort in the lo 

gistics process. 

M6:eb Spool-system: 

The ebSpool system with Java Script Control is an independent 

working ebsoft- program. It communicates with the 

application used in each case. Upon receipt of the formatted 

XML - Files are automatically generated, shortly after the 

output files of labels and forms for the specific printer.. 

An integrated Java - Script can control the printing operations, 

while monitoring the printer treatment and control. It 

can, e.g.: Numerations are conducted shortly before printing, 

check digits are calculated, output printer is checked, signals 

in donors are requested, process data is transferred, and 

much more. 

Output increase in Thermotransfer printers (Zebra or similar). 

The ebSpool system processes the print job with the respective 

commands of the used printer and speaks directly 

to the printer, resulting in numbering and changing content 

(EAN 128) to significant performance gains. 

eb Spool Administration: As several ebSpooler on a print 

server can operate independently and simultaneously, the 

processing and reaction time for the printer output is substantially 

increased. Through a program implemented in eb- 

Spooler administration, the net-working printers are assigned 

to a used ebSpooler in each case. 

Archiving of output. If required, the output can be archived 

and the print results are reported. 

M 7:eb Printer driver: 

When using Thermotransfer printer, ebsoft provides specially 

developed printer driver that are controlled with the use of 

numbering, donors, etc. in a special mode and in the print 

throughput, for different types of printers. (Types of printers 

available on request) 

M 8: ebWindows Printer Driver: 

Ebsoft generally supports all deployed Windows printer drivers. 

This should be regarded upon that they have been released 

by Microsoft. 

M8.1: Printer Independence: 

In program integrated printer independent allows that only one 

layout is needed for different printers. The labels can automat- 


ically be assigned to different printers and shafts. All popular 

Thermotransfer printers, color laser printers, SW- laser printers, 

as well as 2-color Thermotransfer printers are supported.

M 9: eb Windows - Browser: 

The ebsoft - program with an embedded Internet Explorer
