4 Introduction
Two pack epoxy amine systems have been
commercially available for more than 50 years
now. They are used in ambient and forced
drying applications. Characteristic properties
of two pack epoxy amine systems are:
Very good adhesion to many substrates
Excellent chemical resistance
Very good anticorrosion protection
Excellent mechanical properties
Low volume shrinkage upon cure
Based on these properties there is a diverse
range of applications of two pack epoxy amine
systems in industries such as civil engineering,
ACE, railways, automotive, and many others.
Typical applications are:
– Anticorrosive metal primers
– Single coats for metal and topcoats (indoor)
– Linings for storage tanks
– Industrial floorings
– Wall paints
– Tile adhesives
– Grouts
– Epoxy mortars
– Epoxy cement concrete
– Adhesives
– Laminates
Cytec offers a broad range of waterbased,
solventbased and solvent free epoxy resins and
amine hardeners, allowing our customers to
select products according to their respective
requirements.
We early started with the development of waterbased
epoxy dispersions and waterbased amine
hardeners and can therefore look back on many
years of experience. Based on this Cytec is a
major supplier for waterbased two pack epoxy
amine systems.
We constantly work on developing new
innovative products showing unique properties
that allow our customers formulating high
performance paints.
