5. CONCLUSION<br />
Balance reserves of the deposit South<br />
Mining District Majdanpek were determined<br />
on the basis of limit natural indicators<br />
related to the quality of mineral resources<br />
and mining technical conditions of<br />
exploitation, using the software Whittle<br />
and Gemcom.<br />
For selection the most suitable contour<br />
of balance reserves, the deposit optimization<br />
was made in the software Whittle,<br />
based on developed block model of deposit,<br />
where several variants were obtained<br />
in a contour of limit copper content 0.15%,<br />
more precisely 86 variants of open pits.<br />
The mentioned software package sets<br />
the open pit limit per Lersh-Grossman<br />
algorithm, and the Cut-off procedure was<br />
applied. This method is used to calculate a<br />
potential profit for each mineralized block<br />
and costs in the event of its excavation.<br />

Calculation of balance reserves was<br />
mode in the software Gemcom, module<br />
Volumetrics.<br />
Limit open pit for the aforementioned<br />
initial techno-economic parameters is the<br />
open pit with a factor of income equal to<br />
one, or the open pit No.36. Since the open<br />
pits from No.34 to No.38 are positive,<br />
according to the “best“ variant of excavation,<br />
with the existing data taken into optimization,<br />
the open pit No.33 was selected<br />
for construction the open pit that<br />
includes the balance reserves. The assumed<br />
profit, obtained in the software<br />
package Whittle for the variant of open pit<br />
No.33, would provide the additional investments,<br />
while the economic value of<br />
deposit remains positive.<br />
