COM FOR CALCULATION THE BALANCE RESERVES OF COPPER<br />

ORE IN THE SOUTH MINING DISTRICT DEPOSIT MAJDANPEK ∗∗∗<br />

Abstract<br />

Application of software for calculation the reserves in a modern geological and mining science<br />

and practice enables the short term look at a number of variants and finding out the best solutions.<br />

The obtained results had satisfactory quality and accuracy, and according to the international<br />

standards.<br />

This paper presents the application of software Whittle and Gemcom for a (Code) of calculation<br />

the balance reserves of the deposits South Mining District Majdanpek.<br />

1. INTRODUCTION<br />

Balance reserves of solid mineral deposits<br />

are deposit parts that can be profitably<br />

mined by the existing techniques and<br />

technology.<br />

Balance of reserves is determined by<br />

prescribed techno-economic analysis.<br />

It is necessary to adopt previously the<br />

appropriate criteria for determining the balance<br />

of reserves, i.e. to adopt the limit values<br />

of some natural indicators, which relate to<br />

the quality of mineral resource and mining–<br />

technical conditions of exploitation.<br />

In a case of the copper deposits South<br />

Mining District, maximum depth of exploitation,<br />

maximum allowed value of<br />

overburden ratio and minimum, i.e.<br />

maximum average content of useful components<br />

in deposit are very important for<br />

determining the balance of reserves.<br />

After previous development the block<br />

model of deposit as well as determined<br />

initial parameters (costs of exploitation and<br />

processing, losses, dilution, investment and<br />

price of final products), it is possible to<br />
