The average net wages have a tendency<br />of slow increase. They are a bit higher than<br />the average wages in the industry of Serbia,<br />what is normal having in mind the business<br />conditions in the company.<br />Table 6. By the production units inside the<br />company, the wages are almost equal.<br />INVESTMENTS<br />Economic and financial crisis, unfavorable<br />business economy and lack of<br />financial means disabled the realization of<br />many investment projects in the company.<br />Besides that, there were no investments<br />into replacement of old equipment. As a<br />consequence, the technical level of production<br />was very low and applied technologies<br />were obsolete.<br />After a long period, the first major investments<br />were realized in 2010. In mining,<br />a new high-capacity loading and<br />transport equipment was put into operation<br />for the needs of the Veliki Krivelj and<br />Majdanpek mines. Total value of all investments<br />in the field of mining and metallurgy<br />reached 63,524,000 US$. Thus, a<br />new investment cycle has started in this<br />company.<br />Plan of investments for 2011 is even<br />more ambitious. The expected investments<br />have reached the total of 272 million US$,<br />out of which 103,800,000 US$ in mining<br />sector, 163,200,000 in metallurgy and<br />5,000,000 in the other fields. The highest<br />investments are related to the reconstruction<br />of Smelter Plant and construction a<br />new Sulfuric Acid Plant. These investments<br />are very important because they will enable<br />the increase of production, improvement of<br />working conditions and solving the existing<br />environmental problems in Bor.<br />CONCLUSION<br />Since 90’s, RTB Bor operates in extremely<br />complex and tough conditions.<br />Many circumstances had their role in it –<br />disintegration of Yugoslavia, the UN<br />sanctions, civil wars in the neighborhood,<br />NATO campaign, transition processes in<br />the country and finally many problems<br />inside the company. This is certainly one<br />of the most serious crisis in which the<br />company found itself during its existence<br />longer than a century.<br />The main characteristics of recent production<br />were low graded ore, low production,<br />high metal price and unfavorable<br />business economy. Also, here is a high<br />degree of liquidity, high indebtedness and<br />serious environmental problems.<br />After years of agony, 2010 brought<br />some changes and it might be considered<br />as the breaking point in company existence.<br />Production of copper from own<br />resources rises, copper price significantly<br />exceeds the production costs and overall<br />financial results are, after very long period,<br />positive. This is a period of huge<br />investments, and it is expected that it will<br />be continued in future. On the other hand,<br />there are still many problems remained<br />from the past that make more difficult the<br />business activities of company.<br />No 4, 2011. 145<br />MINING ENGINEERING
It is important to mention the largest<br />interest of the government in recovery<br />process of RTB Bor. All of that are encouraging<br />signs that the company will<br />eventually be able to completely overcome<br />years of crisis and become strong,<br />profitable and successful.<br />REFERENCES<br />[1] R.
