The granulator, Figure 1, consists of a<br />

water tank, cage, rotating drum and water<br />

circulation system. The water tank is made<br />

of steel sheet, thickness 1-3mm. Within it,<br />

at the output end, two compartments are<br />

situated for soothing the water overflow<br />

and sedimentation of solid particles.<br />

The tank is possible to discharge on<br />

the bottom. Cage for granules is made of<br />

steel sheet with perforated bottom and<br />

possibility of removing from the tank.<br />

Circulation system consists of a circulation<br />

pump, distribution pipeline of NV25<br />

nominal diameter and nozzles for water<br />

Fig. 2. Laboratory smelting furnace<br />

spraying. Nozzles for water spraying produce<br />

a horizontal plane water jet. Electricity<br />

consumption of circulation pump is<br />

from 0.8 to 1.3 kW. Water flow is up to<br />

5m 3 /h, working pressure in the pipeline is 6<br />

bar. The total mass of granulators is about<br />

200 kg. Granulator dimensions of length/<br />

/width/heightare 1600mm/850mm/810mm.<br />

Appearance of coupling of smelting furnace<br />

and laboratory granulator is provided<br />

through a technological scheme of laboratory<br />

performing the procedure for smelter<br />

slag granulation, shown in Figure 3.<br />
