This program will present an overview of the two recent consensus panel initiatives; Skin Changes At
Life’s End (SCALE) and Shifting the Original Paradigm Expert Panel (SOPE). Dr Stewart will welcome
the participants with a greeting and his vision of the initiatives as they contribute to the evidence and the
work that has come before. As introduction, a brief history of the evolution of the process implementing the
modified Delphi method will be offered by Ms Sylvia. Dr Krasner and Dr Sibbald will each comment on both
of the initiatives, based upon their experience as co-chairs of the Panels. The program will then proceed
with a series of case presentations by the co-chairs illustrating SCALE and SOPE. The aim is to relate the
work of the Panels to clinical practice and bring the evidence back to the bedside while facilitating a forum for
participation by the attendees of the session. The session will conclude with closing remarks by Dr. Stewart.
