EUROPEAN BUSINESS ANGEL NETWORK - Directory of Network 2005
SLOVENIA
Slovenian Business Angels Club is a joint project of Podjetnik (entrepreneur magazine) and
Small Business Development Centre (SBDC). It is a non-profit association. A certain amount
of funding was secured through the budget of Slovenian government. In its first year of activity
(2001/2002) the network was focused mainly on promotion of the concept.

3. BAN legal status

Business Angels Club is placed in the SBDC strategy as an additional financial mechanism for
promoting the business development. It is connected with other projects like voucher system
of consulting and e-work.
4. National association
Business Angels Club is the only BAN in Slovenia operating at the national level.
5. Lobbying
Business Angels Club is connected with partners at national level (Network of Local Business
Centres, Regional development agencies), Universities, Technology Parks and Financial
Institutions.
6. National/regional Support
Slovenian Business Angels Club has financial support from Slovenian government.
7. EU support
The EU does not financially support Slovenian Business Angels Club.
8. Dissemination of the BAN concept
• Regular Business Angels Club’s activities;
• Informing the entrepreneurs about financing possibilities for their projects with informal
venture capital;
• Promotion activities by publishing articles in SLEVCA Novice/News, Podjetnik –
Entrepreneurial Magazine, Kapital - Entrepreneurial Magazine, organising trainings and
seminars for entrepreneurs, attending conferences;
• Running active webpage.
