<strong>IBM</strong> Software<br />

In this lab, you’ll gain a high level understanding of the architecture, features, and development concepts<br />

related to the family of WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances. Throughout the lab, you’ll get a chance<br />

to use the WebSphere DataPower intuitive Web-based user interface (WebGUI) to explore the various<br />

aspects associated with appliance configuration and operation.<br />

Upon completing this lab, you’ll have a better understanding of:<br />

1.5 WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances Family<br />

WebSphere DataPower SOA Appliances are a key element in <strong>IBM</strong>'s holistic approach to Service<br />

Oriented Architecture (SOA). These appliances are purpose-built, easy-to-deploy network devices to<br />

simplify, help secure, and accelerate your XML and Web services deployments.<br />

The DataPower appliance family includes the following:<br />

● WebSphere DataPower XML Security Gateway XS40 - Capable of offloading overtaxed<br />

Web and application servers by processing XML, XSD, XPath and XSLT at wirespeed,<br />

this appliance enables faster results from application investments. It also delivers a<br />

comprehensive set of configurable security and policy enforcement functions including<br />

support for the latest WS-* standards.<br />

● WebSphere DataPower Integration Appliances XI50, XI52, XI50B and XI50Z - <strong>IBM</strong>'s<br />

hardware ESB, this appliance is built for simplified deployment & hardened security. It<br />

includes all of the XML and security functionality found in the DataPower XML Security<br />

Gateway appliance and adds capabilities for bridging multiple protocols.<br />

● WebSphere DataPower B2B Appliance XB62 – Extends all of the capabilities of the<br />

DataPower Integration Appliance with B2B capabilities by providing AS1/AS2/AS3<br />

messaging & trading partner profile management in a high-performance DMZ-ready<br />

appliance.<br />

● WebSphere DataPower Edge Appliance XE82 - Provides an integrated edge-of-network<br />

traffic gateway that plans traffic consolidation, monitoring, management, and acceleration<br />

for web application delivery.<br />
