2.2.2 Processing Policies, Rules, and Actions<br />

Each service that you configure will have exactly one Processing Policy. The processing policy defines<br />

what should happen when a message arrives from either the client (request), or the server (response).<br />

A processing policy is comprised of one or more Processing Rules. A processing rule always begins with<br />

a Match Action, followed by one or more Processing Actions. Processing rules are identified as either<br />

request, response, both, or error types. A processing rule that is indicated as a request rule will be<br />

ignored during response processing. A processing rule that is identified as both will be evaluated for both<br />

requests and responses. Error rules are executed only when an error occurs during processing.<br />

The Match Action references a Match Rule that contains one or more matching criteria (or expressions)<br />

that are evaluated to determine whether or not to execute the remaining actions in the processing rule.<br />

When more than one match expression is defined, the match rule can specify whether to combine them<br />

with Boolean AND or OR semantics. When the match rule is configured to use OR, only one of the match<br />

expressions must be True; when AND is specified, all expressions must evaluate to True.<br />
