Description
The Mini-LXE Fiber Optic Cable is an LXE cable design that
has been size-optimized for a maximum of 18 fibers. The small
size of the mini-LXE cable provides a more efficient package
and a more cost effective solution for the smaller fiber counts
that will be seen in the last optical link of the network.
The min-LXE cable builds on the proven LXE cable design that
has been used successfully in the CATV network. A space efficient
Lightpack ® core holds bundles of up to six color-coded
fibers in a water-blocked unit. The fibers are coated with the
superior D-LUX ® 100 coating technology and each fiber bundle
is identified with a colored binder. A steel armor provides
mechanical protection, and when combined with the two steel
strength members, provides a 400-lb. tensile load rating, which
is suitable for most installation methods. The Mini-LXE design
is completed with a polyethylene sheath which offers protection
to the cable in the rugged outside plant environment.
The economical Mini-LXE cable can be easily entered for fiber
access, and it is completely compatible with AT&T’s line of connecting
apparatus and fiber organization systems for an endto-end
fiber solution.
