Description
The ANTEC LightPath Ribbon Fiber Cable makes fiber splicing
fast and easy. A small diameter cable with high fiber count capacity,
this cable houses up to 216 fibers. The fibers are grouped
together in 12-fiber flat ribbon matrixes, stacked and stranded
within a single central buffer tube.
Designed to resist environmental damage, the central buffer tube
is filled with water blocking gel that resists and retards water
migration which can adversely affect performance. For added
protection, a corrugated steel armor over the central buffer tube
guards the cable from rodents.
The LightPath Ribbon Fiber Cable is reinforced with two steel
wires, longitudinally laid 180° opposed along the steel armor,
for tensile strength. Highly visible aramid ripcords, located by
each steel wire, make cable entry quick and easy, so no special
tools are required. A smooth black medium density
polyethylene (MDPE) sheath is extruded over the armor and
wires. LightPath Ribbon Fiber Cable is available in an alldielectric
configuration for lashed aerial or duct installations.
