Mrs. Hamilton summed it up: "We feel
that through involvement, we will achieve
civic pride and better communication with
in the township."
Working closely with Mrs. Hamilton in
the formation of the auxiliary was Joan
Chakrabarty Although the need for such
an organization had been discussed for
some time, it wasn't until the ladies attended
a fire fighters convention in Ann Arbor
in June of this year that they decided go
ahead.
Four members of the Dearborn Heights
Ladies Auxiliary attended the first meeting.
They learned of bylaws, charters, union
dues, and how to arrange their association
with the National Association of Fire Fighters
Ladies Auxiliary
Since then, things have moved quickly.
With a few changes, they will adopt their
bylaws, elect officers, receive their nonprofit
tax number from the State of Michigan
and receive their charter
THE ADDITION of a second fire station
in the township will bring more prospective
members for the auxiliary
"Out of nine fire fighters." said Mrs.
Hamilton. "Some of them should be married."
She explained that one of their present
members. Connie, and one of their
cadets, are planning a September wedding
Members are Lois Daley. Mary Berger,
Debbie Champagne, Dian Harrison, and
Doris Kelley (honorary member)
They plan monthly meetings in members'
homes.
The auxiliary has contacted the Canton
Township Chamber of Commerce, the Canton
Jaycees and the Canton Township
Board of Trustees for recognition.
From a promising beginning, the new
group will be a credit to the community.

Jerry Cheske's name and Joyce Willis'
name so I took the sign back. But how
does he support me one day and then write
thus the next."
Greenstein said he did. at one meeting in
the summer 1975. tell Myers, then a mem
ber of his slate, that "he dtdnt want trash
like you moving next door."

after he said he wanted to move his mobile
home next door to me There's was
nothing malicious about itv it was a joke.
But I never called mobile home owners
trailer trash'."
He added. "It was just another one of
the lies and filth that has been spread in
this campaign and it was a complete misrepresentation

Myers said the statement in the letter
was completely true and that he had fired
Greenstein from his position as attorney
for the mobile home owners in 1970 because
"he wanted the people to come to
him instead of him going to the people.''
Company to leave
The Anchor Coupling Co. Inc. that has
been doing business in Plymouth area for
the past 60 years, is considering closing
the plant on Amelia Street in the
Plymouth and moving to a location with
more suitable facilities .
The decision was announced by James
Elgin, general manager of the plant, who
stated that the move is expected to be
made within the next month or so.
The possibility of relocating, according
to Elgin, is attributed to various factors
that make the present facility inadequate
for the company's growing operations
Engaged in the production of hose assemblies
for the automobile industry, the company
has approximately 300 employees.
Most of the employees are residents of
Plymouth or the surrounding areas.
The proposed move already has been
made known to the employees and union
representatives.
Meetings with the union are scheduled to
begin within the next week

closing of the plant it will be the third industry
affected in the past year. "Hie first
of these was Evans Products Co. on
tackles Road. Next came Whitman and
Barnes on Plymouth Road that announced
a move to Augusta. Georgie. and now the
Anchor Coupling Co. whose removal whuld
leave a large gap in the industrial picture
of the greater Plymouth area.
