will hold final registration from 10 a.m to
2 p.m. in the Plymouth Cultural Center.
Cost is $25 for first child. $20 for second,

fee for four or more. Children must have
proof of age and parent's signature. A
used hockey equipment sale will be held at
the same time
THEATER WEEKEND
Sept. 24—Plymouth Parks and Recreation
Department is sponsoring a New York
theater weekend which includes three days
and two nights in New York, accommodations
at Americana Hotel, round-trip
air fare, bus transportation to and from
airport, plus orchestra seat for one Broadway
production (choice of four). Cost of
package is $146.90. Call recreation department

The Plymouth Parks and Recreation Department
has discount tickets for Bob-Lo,
Cedar Point and Sea World from 8 a.m. to
5 p.m weekdays at the recreation department,

Bookstore profits
go in special fund
Now that Schoolcraft College's bookstore
has become more than self-supporting, the
board of trustees is faced with the problem
of what to do with the store's profits.
But a recommendation offered by the col-,
lege administration, that $25,000 of the
$35,088 total profit be placed in a special
contingency fund to improve and expand
services to the college community, didnt
seem to be quite what the board had in
mind, although the resolution was eventually
passed. ,
The special fund, which will be a meted
out primarily for cultural and public affairs
programs, drew the critisism of
Trustee Mark McQuesten "I have questions
about the use of the money and reservations
that the contingency fund stemming
from bookstore profits might create
the desire to maintain the fund at the
same level." he said at Wednesday's
board meeting.
"1 suggest that we get the profits back
to the students, or spend it on a place the
students use the most, like the Waterman
Center," he added
Trustee Archibald Vallier was quick to
agree: "The profit should be returned
back. 1 dont think a majority of the students
should be paying for things like an
athletic travel fund (one of the suggested
uses for the money)."
Vallier later added that he was not
happy with the recommended sum of
money to be placed in the fund and sided
with Trustee Leroy Bennett's stand that
the money should go into the general operating
fund rather than a special one.
"I don't like these little niche holes for
money." he said
"Our general fund needs money. By putting
the profits in a special budget, we're
restricting the use of the money. If it can
justify its existence in public affairs, it
will find its way there," Bennett said.

Trustee Rosina Raymond made a motion
that provided for consultation on the use of
the money with the Student Senate, which
has been assuming a greater share of the
cost of various student programs because
of the strained condition of the general operating
fund
Tie motion was defeated by a 6-2 roll
call vote.
After a number of assorted motions and
votes all failed to alter the original resolution
for the special fund, the board voted
5-3 for the establishment of the $25,000 contingency
fund. Trustees McQuesten. Raymond
and Vallier registered the three no
votes against the proposition
