PART B. TRADITIONAL PROPERTY:<br />
(Sections 7100-7199)<br />
Section 7100. REGULATION OF TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP.<br />
In order for any citizen <strong>of</strong> the Trust Territory resident in the<br />
<strong>Yap</strong> District to sell or give to any business establishment or<br />
any person who is not a citizen <strong>of</strong> the Trust Territory any<br />
traditional <strong>Yap</strong>ese money or valuables, it shall be necessary<br />
for the seller or the donor to first obtain a transfer <strong>of</strong> ownership<br />
document. Such document shall state the name or title <strong>of</strong> the<br />
money or the valuable, if any, and the selling price, or in the<br />
case <strong>of</strong> a gift, the estimated value <strong>of</strong> the money or the other<br />
valuable. Such transfer <strong>of</strong> ownership shall be signed by the<br />
Magistrate <strong>of</strong> his municipality or the Paramount Chief <strong>of</strong> his<br />
village, or his island, and co-signed by the District Administrator.<br />
<strong>The</strong> transfer <strong>of</strong> ownership <strong>of</strong> the money or the other<br />
valuable shall become effective when the stller or the donor<br />

there<strong>of</strong> certifies on the document that he has stated the selling<br />
price or has made the stated gift, as the case may be. <strong>The</strong><br />
District Administrator shall notify the District Treasurer <strong>of</strong><br />
any such document which he signs. <strong>The</strong> District Treasurer is<br />
authorized to prescribe the form <strong>of</strong> the transfer <strong>of</strong> ownership<br />
document.<br />
Section 7101. REMOVAL FROM YAP DISTRICT. In order to<br />
remove from the <strong>Yap</strong> District any traditional <strong>Yap</strong>ese money<br />
or valuable, the bearer or shipper there<strong>of</strong> must have in his<br />
possession a document, prescribed by Section 7100, certifying<br />
the ownership there<strong>of</strong>. <strong>The</strong> District Administrator may prevent<br />
any person from shipping, carrying or otherwise removing any<br />
traditional <strong>Yap</strong>ese money or other valuable for which such<br />
person does not have a properly signed document <strong>of</strong> ownership.<br />
Section 7102. EXCEPTIONS. <strong>The</strong> provisions <strong>of</strong> Section 7100<br />
and 7102 shall not apply to <strong>Yap</strong>ese cultural objects presentiy<br />
being manufactured for sale or other disposition.
