márkanév is –, valamint a köszörûszerszámok, 

például bakköszörûk vagy 

kaszakövek. 

A cég elôdje 1922-ben kezdte meg 

tevékenységét a jelenlegi telephelyen, 

Kispesten, ebben az idôben született 

meg a GRANIT márkanév. Ekkor 

ugyan még kôedénygyártással foglalkoztak, 

csak késôbb, 1951-ben egészült 

ki a tevékenység a csiszolószerszámok 

gyártásával. A több mint 60 éves szakmai 

tapasztalatnak és piaci jelenlétnek 

köszönhetôen a magyar iparban széles 

körben ismertek a termékek, de emellett 

a cég jelentôs exportértékesítéssel 

is bír, amely fôleg Nyugat-Európába, 

illetve Észak-Amerikába irányul. 

A GRANIT jelentôs foglalkoztató 

a kerületben, a 120 munkatárs többsége, ha nem is mindenki 

kispesti, de környékbeli, például lôrinci. A közösségi programok 

támogatójaként találkozhatunk a cég nevével a Kispest 

SE rendezvényein, például az uszodában megrendezésre 

kerülô nyári strandröplabda-bajnokságon, illetve olyan 

közösségi rendezvényeken, mint a kispesti sportnap 

és gulyásfôzô verseny. 

GRANIT Grinding Wheel Ltd. is the 

largest abrasive manufacturing company 

in Hungary in the professional market 

segment. The company is privately 

owned and independent. One of the few 

Hungarian companies in the industry 

who has its own product development 

and who is not a subcontractor but is 

producing final goods. We can meet with 

their products on the shelves of the hardware 

stores. The most well-known products 

in their selection are the cutting 

and grinding discs and grinding wheels 

like the bench grinding wheel or the 

scythe stones. 

The company started its operation in the 

present site in Kispest in 1922. The 

brand name GRANIT was originated 

from this period. The main profile of the 

predecessor was the production of potteries 

and tablewares. They started the 

abrasive manufacturing activity later in 

1951. Having more than 60 years of 

experience and strong market presence in 

the last decades the Granit abrasives are 

well known in the Hungarian professional 

industry. 

They have a significant export business 

mainly to Western Europe and North 

America. 

Granit is among the leading employers 

in the district having 120 employees mainly from Kispest 

and the surrounding districts. As a supporters of the local 

events they sponsor for examples the beach volleyball championship 

organized by Kispest SE (Kispest Sport Club) in the 

summer in the Kispest Swimming Pool or community 

programs like the Kispest Sport Day and Goulash Cooking 

Competition.

� During the recent years several developments 

and investments have been carried out in Kispest, 

which contribute to our well-being and overall 

atmosphere, and which make us feel better and 

like more our place of living. 

� Lots of public places had been renovated, parks 

and green areas have been created, the centre of 

Wekerle and the Kós Károly square had been 

modernized, and lots of schools and nursery schools 

had been renovated. We wrote about these regularly 

in the local media: the district TV channel, 

newspapers, web page, information letters, and 

notifications. We inform you regularly about 

everything that might be important during the 

weekdays or holidays, in connection with work or 

the education of children. 

� The sufficient quantity and quality of information 

makes easier the lives of local people and 

helps to know better Kispest for temporary visitors

Kispestet az elsô okiratokban (1869) Colonie Klein Pest néven jegyezték. A terület 1723-tól a Gödöllôi 

uradalomhoz, a Grassalkovich-birtokhoz tartozott. A legkorábbi térképek tanúsága szerint a mai Kispest 

lakatlan, nem túl értékes mezôgazdasági terület volt. A Grassalkovich család kihalása után a birtok többször 

gazdát cserélt, s 1864-ben a Banque de Crédit Fonciére et Industrielle tulajdonába került. A belgiumi 

székhelyû pénzintézet elôször mintagazdaságot kívánt itt létrehozni, azonban hamarosan kiderült, hogy 

elképzelésük nem rentábilis. Így a vadvizekkel, nádasokkal szabdalt terület Pesthez közelebb esô részét 

50-100-500 holdas parcellákban eladták. 

Az új tulajdonosoknak számolniuk kellett 

ugyan a talajvíz okozta vizesedéssel, ám 

abban biztosak lehettek, hogy birtokaik 

Pest közelsége miatt hosszú távon megôrzik 

értéküket. Némelyikük nyaralótelepet akart 

itt létrehozni, mások vadászó-halászó 

helyként hasznosították volna földjüket. 

Aki az értéktartásra spekulált, nem gondolkozott 

rosszul, hiszen az 1870-es évek 

elején már tudni lehetett, hogy Pest, Buda 

és Óbuda egyesülésével hamarosan megszü-

letik az ország új fôvárosa, és az Üllôi 

országút menti, Pest központjától 9-10 km 

távolságra fekvô terület gazdasági jelentôsége 

elôvárosként nôhet. 

� Azok tehát, akik korábban nagyobb 

összefüggô birtokot vásároltak, annak felparcellázása 

révén tisztes jövedelemre számíthattak. 

Nem véletlen, hogy a pesti határhoz 

közelebb fekvô földeket csak a község megalakulását 

követô idôszakban parcellázták fel.


Traditions and modernisation 

In the fi rst written documents (1869) about Kispest the town was listed as ‘Colonie Klein Pest’. Since 1723 

the area belonged to the lordship of Gödöllô, to the property of the Grassalkovich noble family. According to 

the earliest maps of the area, today’s Kispest was an uninhabited, not really valuable agricultural area. After 

the extinction of the Grassalkovich family the property changed hands several times, and in 1864 it became 

the property of Banque de Crédit Fonciére et Industrielle. At fi rst, the fi nancial institution, headquartered in 

Belgium, planned to establish a model farm, however, they soon realised that their plans are not really profi table. 

Therefore they sold the area, containing wetlands and reed beds, separated into 50-100-500-acre parcels. 

Although the new owners had to take into 

consideration the problems caused by the 

groundwater, they could be sure that because 

of the short distance to Pest, their properties will 

preserve their value on the long term. Some of 

them planned to establish a holiday site here, 

others were thinking about utilising the area for 

hunters and fishermen. Those who were speculating 

about preserving the value of the land, made 

a good choice as already at the beginning of 

1870’s one could know that by the union of Pest, 

Buda and Óbuda the new capital city of the 

country is soon to be created, and the economic 

significance of the area along Üllôi country road, 

lying only 9-10 kilometres from the centre of Pest, 

as a suburb, may increase a lot. 

� This meant that all those who had previously 

purchased a larger-size property here, could count

on receiving a substantial revenue from the separation 

of their properties into smaller parcels. It 

was not by chance that the separation of the land 

located closer to the border of Pest was carried out 

only after the foundation of the town. In 1869 

there were altogether 361 houses built on the 

area, and in 1871 its inhabitants applied for the 

title of a temporary smaller town. In 1872 the 

social transport service was started, reaching the 

final stop of the horse railway line of Pest, this way 

making accessible the workplaces of Pest and 

Kôbánya. However, the foundation of holiday 

places of Southern Pest was soon cancelled. 

� Since 1873 Kispest had been showing a rapid 

development, in 1874 it received a title of a big 

town, and till 1909 beyond its today’s areas it 

encorporated also Pestszentlôrinc. The number of 

inhabitants had been increasing continuously, 

together with the number of residential buildings.

rangért folyamodtak. 1872-ben megindult a 

társaskocsijárat a pesti lóvasút végállomásáig, 

ezzel elérhetôvé váltak Pest és Kôbánya 

munkahelyei. A dél-pesti nyaralótelepek 

kialakulása ellenben hamar megfeneklett.

� Kispest 1873-tól rohamos fejlôdésnek 

indult, 1874-ben nagyközségi rangot nyert, 

1909-ig a mai területein túl Pestszentlôrincet 

is magába foglalta. A lélekszám folyamatosan 

emelkedett, a beépítettség nôtt. Az itt telket 

vásárlók az olcsóbb vidéki élet és a fôváros 

közelségének elônyeit kívánták összekapcsolni. 

Elsôsorban szegényebb iparosok, 

iparossegédek, tisztségviselôk, vasutasok 

telepedtek itt le. 

� Az 1880-as évek végén a nagyközség 

vezetôi, különösen azok, akiknek Pestlôrinc 

területén voltak birtokaik, szorgalmazták, 

hogy a község Budapest részévé váljon. 

A fôváros azonban elutasította folyamodványukat, 

így a település az elkövetkezendô 

idôszakban az önállóság elônyeivel és 

hátrányaival nézett szembe.

desire to join a cheaper countryside life with the 

advantages of the closeness of the capital city. 

These people were mainly representatives of the 

layers of poorer craftsmen, journeymen, officers, 

railroaders. 

� At the end of the 1880’s the leaders of the town, 

especially those who had their properties in 

Pestlôrinc, voted for making the town a part of 

Budapest. However, the capital rejected their 

proposal, thus the town was made to face both the 

advantages and disadvantages of independence 

in the forthcoming years. 

� In 1895 the first local newspaper was published 

and from 1896 it was possible to make outgoing 

telephone calls from the town, too. At Templom 

Square in 1897 the first multi-storey building 

appeared which was followed by further ones 

along the Üllôi road. By the start of the railway

transport (1885), and the tram lines (1900) 

Kispest became more and more attractive. By 

1900 altogether 2160 residential buildings had 

been built here, and the number of inhabitants 

amounted 15 756 persons. The majority of the 

young town’s inhabitants was under 40 years.

� 1895-ben jelent meg az elsô helyi újság, 

1896-tól pedig telefonálni is lehetett már 

a községbôl. A Templom téren 1897-ben 

felépült az elsô emeletes ház, melyet az 

Üllôi út mentén hamarosan több is követett. 

A vasúti közlekedés (1885), majd a villamos 

(1900) megindulásával egyre vonzóbbá vált 

Kispest. 1900-ra már 2160 lakóház állt itt, 

és 15 756 volt a lélekszám. A fiatal település 

lakosságának döntô többsége 40 év alatti. 

� 1908-ban Wekerle Sándor miniszterelnök 

kezdeményezésére állami munkáslakótelep 

építése kezdôdött meg, tovább 

növelve a lélekszámot, a beépítettséget, 

és erôsítve a fejlôdést. A Wekerletelep 

azóta is Kispest egyik ékköve. Egységes 

arculata, széles sugárútjai, kertvárosi jellege 

kellemes lakókörnyezetet biztosított 

és biztosít máig is az itt élôknek. 

� A 20. század elsô felében nemcsak új, 

modern lakónegyeddel gazdagodott 

Kispest, egyre több ipari és kereskedelmi 

kis- és nagyvállalkozásnak is otthont adott, 

s 1922-re városi rangot szerzett. Az elsô 

világháború okozta pusztítás és a gazdasági 

világválság átmenetileg megakasztotta 

a fejlôdést. A gazdasági gondok mellé 

szociális problémák is társultak. 

� Csak 1931-tôl indult újra a gáz- és 

a vízvezeték építése, és az úthálózat fejlesztése, 

igaz, a fôközlekedési utakon kívül 

keveset köveztek le. Mentôállomás (1934) 

és szanatórium is épült. 1936-tól fokozatosan 

fellendült a termelés, és konszolidálódott 

a gazdasági élet. Azonban a második 

világháború minden további elképzelést 

elsodort. A háború okozta károkat még 

az önálló város enyhítette, ám 1950. január 

1-jétôl Kispest beolvadt Nagy-Budapestbe, 

s ezzel új szakasz kezdôdött a település 

életében.


� In 1908, based on the initiative of Sándor 

Wekerle, that-time Prime Minister a construction 

of a state-owned residential site for workers 

was started, increasing further the number of 

inhabitants, the level of land utilisation and reinforcing 

development. Since that time, the Wekerle 

site is still one of the precious stones of Kispest. Its 

unified design, wide highways, and its garden 

city-like character has always been providing a 

pleasant living environment for its inhabitants. 

� In the first part of the twentieth century not 

only a new and modern residential area was 

added to Kispest, but also more and more industrial 

and commercial small- and medium-sized 

enterprises established their headquarters here. By 

1922 it obtained the title of a city. The damages 

caused by WW I. and the global economic 

recession temporarily hindered the development. 

Besides the economic troubles some social ones 

emerged, too. 

� The extension of gas- and water pipelines has 

been restarted only from 1931, together with the 

development of the road network, however, except 

from the main road lines only a few have been 

renewed by concrete. A station of emergency service 

(1934) and a sanatorium were also built. 

Since 1936 the production has been continuously 

increasing, and the economic life became consolidated. 

However, the Second World War destroyed 

all the further development plans. Damages 

caused by the war had been eased by the independent 

city, however, on 1 st of January, 1950 Kispest 

was unified with the Big-Budapest, this way 

a new era has started in the life of the town. 

� After 1950 the development of Kispest is twofaced: 

on one hand, factories carrying out the 

industrial production were continuing with their 

operation, and their number even increased; on 

the other hand, as a part of Budapest, it still 

remained a suburb. The development of road

� 1950 után Kispest fejlôdése kétarcú: 

egyrészt tovább mûködtek, sôt szaporodtak 

az ipari termelést végzô üzemek, másrészt 

Budapest részeként elôváros, peremváros 

maradt. Folytatódott az úthálózat fejlesztése, 

1950 és 1964 között 170 új lakás épült, 

és bôvült a villamos- és buszközlekedés. 

Az 1968-ra elkészült általános rendezési terv 

a dél-pesti régió központjának szerepét szánta 

Kispestnek. A koncepció 1971-re emelkedett 

kormányprogrammá, 1972-ben pedig ünnepélyes 

keretek között helyezték el az új 

városközpont alapkövét. Az 1970-es években 

meginduló szanálások eredményeként 125 

hektár területen tizenkétezer lakás épült fel. 

A panelházak nagy része 11 szintes, a fôútvonalak 

mentén pedig 5 szintes. A panellakások 

– építésük idején – a legmagasabb komfortfokozatot 

biztosították a beköltözôknek, 

és nagymértékben enyhítették a lakáshiánnyal 

küzdô Budapest életlehetôségeit. Másrészt 

azonban a régi házak elbontásából, a benne 

lakók kiköltöztetésébôl adódó tragédiák társadalmi 

méretû problémát okoztak. 

� A panellakások építésével megváltozott 

Kispest egész arculata. A többségében kis, 

földszintes házakból álló, az önálló település 

hangulatát ôrzô kerületbôl építészetileg is 

nagyváros lett. A lakosság száma a többszörösére 

nôtt, és nagymértékben ki is cserélôdött. 

Mára a panelépületek korszerûtlenné válásával 

küzd az ország. A kerületben az elsô panelfelújítás 

az 1990-es évek végére tehetô. 

Kezdetben sátortetô ráépítésével próbálták 

enyhíteni a problémákat, mára fôként a homlokzatok 

szigetelésén, színesre festésén, valamint 

a fûtés korszerûsítésén van a hangsúly. 

� Az átgondolatlan területrendezés azonban 

megszüntette az egykori város arculatát, 

a Kossuth tér rendezése és az új kulturális 

centrum megépítése pedig elmaradt. Kispest 

központi jellege az észak–déli metróvonal 

(hármas metró) átadásával erôsödött meg, 

a Határ úti és a kôbánya-kispesti csomópont 

növelte a kerület presztízsét.

network continued, and between 1950 and 1964 

170 new residential buildings have been built, and 

the tram and bus transport has been extended, too. 

By 1968 the general spatial plans had been finalised, 

and Kispest was to become the centre of 

Southern Pest region. The concept had become a 

government program by 1971, and in 1972 the 

cornerstone of the new city centre was laid during a 

ceremony. In the 1970’s some transformation processes 

had been started, as a result of which 12,000 

new flats were created on an area of 125 hectares. 

The majority of the blocks of flats has 11 storeys, and 

along the major road lines they have 5 storeys. At the 

time of their construction, these blocks of flats provided 

the highest possible comfort level to their inhabitants, 

and decreased to a great extent the problem 

of Budapest struggling with the lack of flats. On the 

other hand, the tragedies emerging from the destroying 

of old houses and the forced move-out of their 

inhabitants created a problem on society-level. 

� By the start of building more and more block of 

flats the atmosphere of Kispest changed a lot. The 

district where in most of the cases smaller, singlestorey 

houses were built, guarding the atmosphere 

of an independent town, became a part of the city 

also from a construction point of view. The number 

of inhabitants grew rapidly and was changing to a 

great extent. 

Nowadays the country is struggling with the outdatedness 

of the blocks of flats. In the district the 

first renovation of a panel building started at the 

last period of 1990’s. At first there had been 

attempts to ease problems by building tent roofs on 

them; however, nowadays the emphasis is mainly on 

the insulation and painting of facades, furthermore, 

the modernisation of heating systems. 

� Unfortunately, the ill-considered structural design 

of buildings around the district damaged a lot to the 

former image of the city, and the spatial planning of 

Kossuth Square and the construction of the new 

cultural centre has been cancelled.

� Kellemes, családias környezet, sokemeletes 

bérházak helyett kertvárosi lakások, 

hogy a vidékrôl a városba költözô dolgozó 

emberek is otthon érezhessék magukat. 

Ez volt a Wekerletelepet kitalálók elképzelése, 

ezt tette magáévá Wekerle Sándor 

akkori miniszterelnök, és minden segítséget 

megadott az építkezéshez. Ezt az érzést 

öntötte konkrét tervekbe Kós Károly, akinek 

nevét viseli a 19. századra jellemzô szeceszsziós 

és organikus motívumokat is hordozó 

telep, és annak központi része, a tér.

Budapest polgármestere is támogatta. 

A beterjesztett javaslat Kispestet jelölte meg 

az építendô lakótelep helyéül. Wekerle 

Sándor és a pénzügyminisztériumban vele 

dolgozó Gyôry Ottomár közösen kezdett 

hozzá egy modern, emberi léptékû kertváros 

tervének kidolgozásához. Kevés volt akkoriban 

is az olyan állami pályázat, amelyet egy 

teljesen üres terület beépítésére, építészeti 

megvalósítására terjesztettek elô. Olyan kihívás 

volt ez, mely mozgósítani tudta a 20. sz. 

elején induló – a késôbbiekben országos hírnevet 

szerzett – feltörekvô építészgárdát. 

Két pályázatot írtak ki: az egyik a kialakítandó 

új város, település szerkezetére, 

a másik az építendô lakóházak típusára 

vonatkozott.

The central character of Kispest became reinforced 

by the handover of the north-south underground 

line (metro line nr. 3), the junction points at Határ 

road and at Kôbánya-Kispest managed to increase 

the prestige of the district. 

� Comfortable, family environment, garden city 

instead of multi-storey blocks of flats, in order to 

ensure that the workers moving from countryside 

into the city could feel theirselves at home. This was 

the main concept of the designers of the Wekerle 

site; this is what Sándor Wekerle, that-time Prime 

Minister was following, too, and for the construction 

of which he provided all the necessary support. 

This feeling was transformed into exact structural 

plans by Károly Kós, the name of which appears on 

the site bearing also Art Nouveau and organic 

motifs, typical for the nineteenth century, and its 

central part, the square.

Moments of the exhibition at the Barber Museum 

� Wekerle site was created by state and law will 

in 1908. The proposal of Sándor Wekerle, thattime 

Minister of Finance, suggesting the construction 

of worker’s flats from state money as the solution 

for the problem of severe lack of flats in the 

capital city, was supported also by István Bárczy, 

that-time Mayor of Budapest. The brought-in 

proposal indicated Kispest as the ideal place of the 

planned new residential site. Sándor Wekerle and 

his colleague at the Ministry of Finance, Ottmár 

Gyôry started together working out the plan of a 

modern, human-centred garden city. In those 

times there had been only a few state tenders in 

connection with starting the realisation of constructions 

on a completely empty area. This meant 

a challenge that was able to activate the aspiring 

team of architects, emerged at the beginning of 

the twentieth century, and which gained a 

country-wide recognition later on.

centenáriumi év lehetôséget és alkalmat 

adott arra, hogy az unió támogatásával 

megújuljon ennek az egyedülálló építészeti 

emléknek egy része.

hogy féltôn ôrizze hagyományait, engedje 

és támogassa, hogy a kedves utcák ismét 

regélhessenek, s továbbhaladjon a korszerûsítés 

útján, az itt élôk arca pedig büszkén 

felderüljön, amikor azt mondják:

Two tenders were written out: the first one 

related to the structure of the new city-to-bebuilt, 

and a second one for the exact types of the 

buildings-to-be-constructed. 

� The construction was started according to 

the plans; however, it was stopped because of the 

First World War, and afterwards the revolutions 

of 1918-19. Construction work was 

restarted under other political and economic 

conditions, thus a great number of such public 

institutions (workers’ casino, hospital, spas, 

etc.) finally have not been realised, which had 

been an important element of initial construction 

plans. 

� The Wekerle site is still an outstanding and 

landmark area of Budapest, even of the whole 

country. Its construction values are well known 

and recognised all around Europe. The centenary 

year of 2010 provided a great possibility 

and opportunity for the renovation of a part of 

this unique construction monument, by utilising 

financial supports of the European Union. 

� For Kispest maintaining traditions carefully 

is a living reality, and it is a constant effort to 

allow and support its lovely streets to create their 

history and to move forward on the way of modernisation, 

so that its inhabitants can be enthusiastic 

when they say: ‘I live in Kispest, and 

I feel myself lucky that I can live here.’

� The swimming pool of Kispest opened its 

doors for the public in 1988, with a capacity 

of 480 persons. The comfort of visitors is 

provided by a practical cabinet system and 

changing rooms with a common use. The 

diversified offer of tickets and permanent 

tickets ensures favourable conditions for fulfilling 

the guests’ various needs. 

One can find here a bigger swimming 

pool - 33,3 x 16 metres, with water temperature of 26-28 o C, 

furthermore, a training pool of 16 x 18 metres, with water temperature 

of 30-32 o C, thus both the needs of fans of swimming 

and beginners can be met. 

� A 2335 m 2 landscaped area belongs to the swimming pool, as well; 

here the sunbathing garden offers a lot of possibilities for all those who 

would like to have a rest, or to have fun. It is worthwhile to try also 

the beach volleyball court and the modern football court, too. 

� The swimming pool is located in a perfect transport hub, at the 

final stop of the blue metro line (nr. 3), at the edge of a small forest 

next to Ferihegy highway.

A kultúrház könyvtára különálló épületben, a telep centrumában, 

a Kós Károly téren található. Gyûjtôkörét 

elsôsorban a gyermek és ifjúsági könyvek, valamint 

a környezetvédelemmel, természettel kapcsolatos kiadványok 

alkotják. 

A Petur utcai épületet az önkormányzat által elnyert 

európai uniós forrásból 2010-ben felújították, így kulturált, 

modern környezetben mûködnek a programok. 

Wekerle Cultural Centre and Library 

has been operating for almost 30 years 

on the Wekerle protected monument 

site. The Centre’s main target group 

are families with little children and 

preschool and school-age children, 

however, the Centre offers also several 

kinds of high-level courses for adults, 

and various clubs operate here, as 

well. At the weekends one can choose 

from various family programs, in most 

of the cases with free entry or at a 

favourable price (puppetry, dance houses, arts and crafts programs, 

green programs, themed events). Holidays and summer camps 

organised by the Centre are very popular, too, not only among the 

inhabitants of the district. 

The library of the Cultural Centre is located in a separate building 

in the centre of the site, at Kós Károly square. It specialises mainly on 

literature for children and teenagers, furthermore, publications in 

the field of environmental protection and nature. 

The building at Petur street was renovated in 2010 from the EU 

sources won by the local government, thus the programs are nowadays 

organised in a cultural and modern environment.

1 db 100 fõs különterem áll rendelkezésre. Igény szerint 

folklórmûsoros vacsorát rendeznek kül- és belföldi csoportok 

számára. A vendégek jó hangulatáról Sárközi Béla és zenekara 

gondoskodik. A 300 fõs árnyas kerthelyiség tavasztól õszig nagy 

népszerûségnek örvend az ide látogatók körében. 

Traditional atmosphere 

Halásztanya Restaurant, built in 1938 in the centre of Kispest, has managed 

to preserve its original atmosphere. On the menu besides fi sh specialities 

one can fi nd a wide variety of dishes from Hungarian and international 

cuisine, as well. 

For the arrangement of events there are two 30-seat rooms, one 45-seat separated 

room and one 100-seat room available. Upon request, the restaurant 

organises dinners with folklore programs, both for foreign and domestic groups. 

The good atmosphere of the events is provided by Béla Sárközi and his 

orchestra. The shady, 300-seat garden area is especially popular among 

the restaurant’s guest from the beginning of spring until the end of autumn.

A Segítô Kéz Kispesti Gondozó Szolgálat elsôsorban azoknak 

a kispesti idôseknek nyújt széles körû ellátást, akik koruk, 

egészségi állapotuk miatt rászorulnak, és ellátásukat kérik. 

A kérelmezô önellátó képességének és rászorultságának 

megfelelôen személyre szabott gondozást, alapápolást, 

jelzôrendszeres felügyeletet, és a szabadidô eltöltésének hasznos 

megszervezését biztosítja az intézmény. Legfontosabb 

szolgáltatásaik: étkeztetés (normális és többféle diéta), házi 

segítségnyújtás, jelzôrendszeres házi segítségnyújtás, idôsek 

nappali ellátása (idôsek klubja), értelmi fogyatékosok nappali 

ellátása, idôsek gondozóháza, valamint a nyugdíjas házban 

24 órás nôvérfelügyelet. 

A Kispesti Önkormányzat nemrég 200 fôsre bôvítette 

a segítségkérô jelzôrendszert, és további fejlesztését tervezi. 

A házi segítségnyújtás berendezése a csuklóra helyezhetô, 

a készülékével a segítséget kérôk már kommunikálni tudnak 

a szolgálat munkatársaival, nem csupán jelezni, ha baj van. 

A szolgáltatás jól kiegészíti az egyéb szociális alapszolgáltatásokat, 

biztonságossá teszi az idôsek, fogyatékkal élôk számára 

az otthoni életet, így lehetôvé válik, hogy tartós bentlakásos 

otthon helyett saját környezetükben élhessék mindennapjaikat. 

The ’Helping Hand Care Service of Kispest’ provides a wide range of care 

primarily to those elderly living in Kispest, who need it due to their high 

age or bad health status and who are asking for this kind of care. 

All applicants receive tailor-made care, elementary care, warning 

surveillance system monitoring, based on one’s ability to take care about 

himself and the level of dependence on others, and the institution can help 

also in organising one’s free time in a useful way. Their most important 

services are: catering (basic and special diets), home-care service, warning 

surveillance system monitoring in one’s home, daytime care of elderly 

(club of elderly), daytime care of mentally handicapped people, care house 

of elderly, furthermore, a 24-hour nurse service in the pensioners’ home. 

Recently the Local Government of Kispest has extended the help requesting 

surveillance system, making it available for 200 persons and it will 

continue with it also in the future. The device of helping elderly at home 

can be put on one’s wrist, which enables people requesting help to 

communicate with the associates of the care service, and not only 

the signalling in case of emergency. This service supplements perfectly the 

other basic social services, it makes more safe the home life of elderly 

or handicapped people, this way enabling them to live their everyday 

life in their own homes and environment, instead of living permanently 

in residential homes.

� Mentes László és Társa 1990-ben nyitotta meg 

elsô szervizét egy kétállásos javítómûhelyben, mely 

már akkor is alapvetôen ŠKODA típusokat javított. 

� Az autókereskedelem átalakulása következtében 

megalakultak a márkaimportôrök. Az importôrrel 

1992-ben kötött szerzôdésük alapján elindíthatták 

ŠKODA márkakereskedôi tevékenységüket. A Deák 

Ferenc utcai telephely szûkössége miatt szükségessé 

vált egy új telephely kialakítása, mely az Attila 

utcában történt meg. Az Attila utcai telephelyen történô 

új gépkocsi-értékesítés, valamint az alkatrészkínálat 

megalapozta a cég hírnevét. A kereskedés 

legnagyobb eseménye a ’97-es esztendôben érkezett 

el, ez pedig az új bemutatóterem és szerviz megnyitása 

volt, amely nemcsak a cég számára, hanem 

partnereik számára is mérföldkô lett, hiszen itt 

kultúráltabb körülmények között tudták fogadni 

ügyfeleiket. 

� A kereskedés három alkalommal, 1996-ban, ’97-ben, 

valamint ’99-ben nyerte el az „Év ŠKODA márkakereskedôje” 

címet. A 2000. év legnagyobb sikere 

a ŠKODA gyár által adományozott „LEX Best 

Dealer” cím, melyet Európában kilenc márkakereskedô 

érdemelt ki, ezzel a cég az európai legjobbak 

sorába emelkedett. 

� Mára a kereskedés nem „csak” Škoda 

márkaképviselet és márkaszerviz; Volkswagen 

márkaszerviz joggal is rendelkezik és Weltauto 

telephelyként is mûködik. 

� Jelenleg a cég közel 4500 nm alapterületet foglal 

el, ahol a gépjármû-értékesítés és javítási szolgáltatások 

teljes skálájával, valamint további kiegészítô

� László Mentes and his associate opened their first 

car repair shop in 1990, in a two-place workroom, 

which was handling from the beginning primarily 

vehicles of the brand ŠKODA. 

� Due to the transformation of the car trade brand 

importers have appeared on the market. Based on 

their agreement concluded with the importer in 

1992 they could start their operation as a ŠKODA 

brand trader. Because of the lack of space at their 

site at Deák Ferenc Street, they needed to establish 

a new site – the ideal place was found at Attila 

Street. The sale of new vehicles and the wide range 

of spare parts at the new site meant the basis for the 

good reputation of the company. The company 

achieved its biggest result in 1997, when they opened 

their new showroom and repair shop – this step was 

a milestone not only for the company but also for 

their partners, as here they could offer much better 

conditions for their customers. 

� The company won the award ’ŠKODA Brand 

Trader of the Year’ three times: in 1996, 1997 and 

1999. The biggest result of the year 2000 was the 

award given by the ŠKODA factory: "LEX Best 

Dealer", by which altogether nine brand traders have 

been awarded around Europe. This way the company 

ranked itself among the best European brand traders. 

� Nowadays the company is not ’only’ a Škoda 

brand trader and brand repair shop; it has also the 

right of a Volkswagen brand repair shop and 

operates also as a Weltauto site. 

� Currently the company operates on a site of 

4,500 m 2 , and it offers to its customers a complete 

range of vehicle sale and repair services, furthermore, 

with other supplementary services.
