Wheatley’s Trichrome Blue H4g ..............................................
The Wheatley Trichrome method first introduced in 1951 employs a modification
of traditional fixation and dehydration methods. This multi-chromatic
method yields rapid staining and excellent definition on amoebae and flagellates.
PVA fixed stool specimens should be allowed to dry overnight. Blood cells
and bacteria stain red, while yeast and vegetable fibers stain green. In tissue
sections connective tissue is green, muscle and cytoplasm red, and nuclei blue.
