Fluorescent Dyes & Stains
BioSciences
Fungi-White ...............................................................
Suitable to use in identification of fluorescent fungal elements and trichomonas detection. Rapid
chemo-fluorescent method useful for the detection of Microsporidia and Acanthamoeba spp. The
Fungi-White dye fluoresces when exposed to ultraviolet light (below 400nm wavelength). The
procedure is useful on fecal smears, cell cultures, or other sample materials. To use this method
on plastic sections requires modifications to the standard protocol. Technical Data Sheet #756
Kit Contains: 6 x 5ml Fungi-White Reagent A, 6 x 5ml Stain Reagent B
Reduced ethidium bromide. A vital stain. Enters and stains living cells without
cellular trauma. Double staining system. Stains cytoplasm blue and chromatin
red. Excellent cellular retention. Remains incorporated in chromatin with virtually
no leakage. Essentially non-toxic. Shows no toxicity at levels useful for
visualizing chromatin. Technical Data Sheet #351 Biotechnology, 3, 4 (1985)
