• No restrictions on the number <strong>of</strong> rods or lines fished per<br />

• Closed for retention <strong>of</strong> green sturgeon.<br />

• Angling restricted to one single-point, barbless hook for<br />

white sturgeon.<br />

• Minimum fork length 38 inches, maximum fork length<br />

Salmon <strong>and</strong> Steelhead • Ocean salmon <strong>and</strong> steelhead seasons <strong>and</strong> restrictions are set each April by the Pacific <strong>Fish</strong>ery Management<br />

Council (PFMC). Regulations are published each May <strong>and</strong> are available from license agents.<br />

• See Northwest Zone, Tillamook Bay for description <strong>of</strong> control zone <strong>of</strong>f Tillamook Bay.<br />

• Single-point, barbless hooks required, except in coastal bays.<br />

Note: Regulations may change on short notice during the season. Changes are available from ODFW<br />

<strong>of</strong>fices, license agents, the Internet at www.dfw.state.or.us/mrp <strong>and</strong> news media. Changes to salmon<br />

regulations for the Columbia River system are printed in May <strong>and</strong> are available at ODFW <strong>of</strong>fices or from<br />

license agents. Check for new regulations before you fish.<br />

Pacific Halibut • May be taken by angling with single line, no more than 2 hooks; <strong>and</strong> by spear.<br />

• Catch limits <strong>and</strong> seasons are set in March <strong>and</strong> published in May but may change on short notice.<br />

In-season changes to regulations are available from ODFW <strong>of</strong>fices, license agents, the Internet at<br />

www.dfw.state.or.us/mrp, or by calling 1-800-662-9825; press 7. Check regulations before you fish.<br />

gauge over the shell.<br />

Zone, item 2. For permit renewals, previous year’s<br />

catch record must be submitted to ODFW before next<br />

year’s permit will be issued.<br />

• Abalone <strong>and</strong> scallops brought ashore shall be whole<br />

<strong>and</strong> in such a condition that the size can be determined.<br />

• Abalone <strong>and</strong> scallops must not be removed from their<br />

shell in the field, except when being prepared for<br />

immediate consumption.<br />

• Razor clams may be taken by h<strong>and</strong>, shovel, or cylindrical<br />

gun or tube. The opening <strong>of</strong> the gun/tube must<br />

be either circular or elliptical with the circular gun/tube<br />

having a minimum outside dimension <strong>of</strong> 4 inches <strong>and</strong><br />

the elliptical gun/tube having a minimum dimension <strong>of</strong><br />

4 inches long <strong>and</strong> 3 inches wide outside diameter.<br />

• All other clams may be taken by h<strong>and</strong> or h<strong>and</strong>-powered<br />

tools.<br />

• All razor, gaper, geoduck, piddocks <strong>and</strong> s<strong>of</strong>tshell<br />

clams must be retained regardless <strong>of</strong> size or condition.<br />

All other unbroken clams may be returned only in<br />

immediate harvest area.<br />

• Unlawful to remove clams from the shell before leaving<br />

the clamming area.<br />
