Hon’ble members of the National Integration Council, at the outset I wish to thank
the Home Minister for convening this meeting at this crucial juncture. When State
after State is witnessing violence against minorities, when an ordinary citizen of this
country was looking towards Government and was thinking that why this council which
was constituted as soon as UPA government came to power, is not being convened.

three months for BJP to condemn violence in Orissa and that condemnation came after
only when the European Union and other international community have raised strong
objection to the violence in Orissa. I don’t wish to question the wisdom of the people
who are in our Government but Sir, I feel pain when I read and hear about the statements
of the government’s side that Bajrang Dal could not be banned because it is not a
registered organization or that banning of an organization like Bajrang Dal is not a good
option. I would not say anything about SIMI because I bow my head in shame, when
I think that I have to raise my voice four years back when SIMI has used logo of
Quran Sharif with the AK-47 on it and as a Muslim we have to understand that the time
to come is of very crucial nature and should raise our head and we have not at that time.
I was pained to hear the statement of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, when he said that
the incident in Adilabad is an accident. I have read newspaper reports today, which has
pointedly scrutinized the whole scenario there and the activist from Hindu Vahini,
under the patterange of the local MLA, they have attacked the house of the
innocent family in which two innocent children of less than seven years were burnt
