Book of Integration Council New - Ministry of Home Affairs

I take this opportunity to draw kind attention of this august gathering to
the fact that inclusive development and national integration will suffer if we
fail to provide access for all communities to uniform modern education. The
Constitution provides that universal primary education is a basic right of a
child. It is high time that common curriculum is prescribed for all institutions
including the minority run institutions. We need to equip our citizens to
contribute to the growth and development of the Country. In highly competitive
environment of today, deprivation of modern education will lead to further
segregation affecting integration. I would request every one to give serious
thought to these aspects so that a consensus is arrived at for regulating all
educational institutions whether run by minorities or others.
With the above observations and suggestions, I conclude my speech and
hope that this forum will consider the same carefully to address the real issues
posing serious threats to national integration.
