7,000 km Badge<br />
The FAI awards a badge for a distance flight of 1,000 km or more - requirements as for<br />
Gold Distance.<br />
UK 750 km Diploma<br />
A distance flight of not less than 750 km starting in the UK - requirements as for Gold<br />
Distance.<br />
Authentication<br />
The full procedure for authenticating badge flights is contained in the current FAI<br />
Sporting Code.<br />
Other Qualifications<br />

Radio Licences, etc, see the current edition of the BGA 'Laws and Rules' booklet.<br />
Annual Soaring Awards<br />
The following are awarded for each calendar year to the best flights in each category<br />
starting in the UK; Distance may be flown according to current F.A.I. Badge Rules, and<br />
for the purpose of these awards, distances and speeds are measured on handicapped<br />
basis according to the glider's B.G.A. Speed Index. Prospective claimants should notify<br />
the Competitions and Awards Committee by the 31 st December.<br />
WAKEFIELD TROPHY - Longest distance flight<br />
CALIFORNIA IN ENGLAND TROPHY - Longest distance flight by female pilot<br />
VOLK TROPHY - Longest out and return flight<br />
FURLONG TROPHY - Longest triangular flight.<br />
SEAGER CUP - Longest distance flight in a two-seater<br />
FRANK FOSTER TROPHY - Fastest declared 500 kms closed circuit with maximum of<br />
2 turning points.<br />
MANIO CUP - Fastest declared 300 kms closed circuit with maximum of 2 turning<br />
points.<br />
REX PILCHER TROPHY - Earliest declared 500 kms triangle of the year by a pilot<br />
completing this task for the first time.<br />
DE HAVILLAND TROPHY - Maximum gain of height<br />
DOUGLAS TROPHY - Winners of the Inter-<strong>Club</strong> League.<br />
