7,000 km Badge
The FAI awards a badge for a distance flight of 1,000 km or more - requirements as for
Gold Distance.
UK 750 km Diploma
A distance flight of not less than 750 km starting in the UK - requirements as for Gold
Distance.
Authentication
The full procedure for authenticating badge flights is contained in the current FAI
Sporting Code.

Annual Soaring Awards
The following are awarded for each calendar year to the best flights in each category
starting in the UK; Distance may be flown according to current F.A.I. Badge Rules, and
for the purpose of these awards, distances and speeds are measured on handicapped
basis according to the glider's B.G.A. Speed Index. Prospective claimants should notify
the Competitions and Awards Committee by the 31 st December.
WAKEFIELD TROPHY - Longest distance flight
CALIFORNIA IN ENGLAND TROPHY - Longest distance flight by female pilot
VOLK TROPHY - Longest out and return flight
FURLONG TROPHY - Longest triangular flight.
SEAGER CUP - Longest distance flight in a two-seater
FRANK FOSTER TROPHY - Fastest declared 500 kms closed circuit with maximum of
2 turning points.
MANIO CUP - Fastest declared 300 kms closed circuit with maximum of 2 turning
points.
REX PILCHER TROPHY - Earliest declared 500 kms triangle of the year by a pilot
completing this task for the first time.
DE HAVILLAND TROPHY - Maximum gain of height
DOUGLAS TROPHY - Winners of the Inter-Club League.
